If you are interested in IPS, First you can crack the Civil Examination Civil Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission in yearly once Civil Examination is conducted for IAS/IPS by Union Public Service commission Required Eligibility criteria for Civil Examination Educational Qualification >> Candidates have a bachelor of degree from any recognized university >> Final year students also eligible for this examination >> There is no percentage required for this examination Age Limit >> Candidates age should between 21 years to 30 years for general candidates 5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates 3 years relaxation for OBC candidates Nationality >> Candidates should be a citizen of India Selection Procedure >> Preliminary Examination >> Mains Examination >> Personnel Interview No.of Attempts 4 attempts for General candidates 7 attempts for OBC candidates No restriction for SC/ST candidates |

The qualification is not differant for a commerce candidate and for a science candidate it is same for both the candidates. A candidate who wants to appear IPS exam should be pass graduation in any discipline. IPS exam is conducted by the UPSC one time in one year. Educational qualification:- The candidate should be complete graduation or any equivalent bachelor's degree from a recognised university of India. No need of percentage restrictions to appear this exam. Gender:- Both male and female are eligible. Nationality:- Candidate should be a citizen of india OR A subject of bhutan, OR A subject of nepal, OR A tibetian refugee who came over india permanently. Age criteria:- The age limits for General candidates is 21 to 30 years, The age limits for OBC candidates is 21 to 33 years, The age limits for SC/ST candidates is 21 to 35 years. Selection steps:- Preliminary examination, Mains examination, Personal interview. Number of attempts:- 4 times for General category candidates, 7 times for OBC category candidates, No limits in the number of attempts for SC/ST candidates. Re: What is the qualification for commerce student to join IPS? Yes Commerce student can join as IPS Officer but you have to crack Civil Services Examination for becoming IPS officer. Qualifications for IPS Examination: -Graduation in any stream from a recognised University. -Indian Citizen are only eligible to apply. Age Criteria: The age criteria will be different for different categories: General Category- 21 to 30 years OBC Category - 21 to 33 years SC/ST Category - 21 to 35 years Selection Procedure: -CSAT -Mains -Interview -Medical Examination For becoming IPS you have to pass medical examination for various physical parameters. The acronym for IPS is Indian Police Services. IPS examination is a civil services examination, which is conducted by UPSC every year. The eligibility criteria required for the IPS examination are prescribed as below:- * Completion of graduation in any discipline from any recognized college or university. * Age limit:- 21-30 yrs. * Age relaxation:- 3 yrs for OBC and 5 yrs for SC/ST contendors. * Nationality:- Indian. * No. of attempts:- 4 for General, 7 for OBC and no limits for SC/ST contendors. * Must be fit. Only a pass in Graduation is sufficient to be eligible for IPS. IPS - Indian Police Service, to become an IPS Officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.
