Hi Friends.............

Yes English is compulsory for IAS Exam...because the exam is in English & at the time of interview you need to face the interview in English language only,........so try to learn some basics of English
When compared to IAS Exam English is not a tough subject..........

Yes Dear
English Speaking is very much compulsory for the post of IAS.
It is a highly reputed post in INDIA and the selection team selects only those, who have a great command in English along with the other subjects as you don't know that during the duty with whom you may have to encounter such as some foreign delicates.

Also interview is done in English mode only.

Re: Is English Speaking compulsory for IAS entrance exam?

Nowadays, proficiency in English language is being important for everyone to crack Interviews and to perform well in the job which you join.

Whatever competitive exam it is, whether IAS Exam or any other exam, the final selection will be by Interview.

To crack Interview, you should showcase your talent.

That will be done easily if you are good enough in communicating the things.

If you are not good enough in English,

better to be strong enough in this area as quick as possible.

Join in some coaching institute to be good enough in English.

Try to speak in English only with friends and other known persons.

In this way you can improve your English communication.

All the best.

Re: Is English Speaking compulsory for IAS entrance exam?

IAS Officer is a designated job position. Adequate communication skills are preferred for the job. Candidate must have good communication skills in regional language also. All these traits are checked during interview session. Questions on english language will be asked for written test also. You can seek the help of coaching centers to develop communication skills.

Re: Is English Speaking compulsory for IAS entrance exam?

Hi,
Yes, the Civil Services Main examination includes two language papers one in Indian language and one in General English at the level of 10th standard. This is totest the ability of the candidate's proficiency in his mother tongue / Indian language and English. These two papers carry 300 marks each but are not for the ranking. However It is mandatory to clear these two papers as if a candidate fails to clear these papers, his other papers will not be evaluated. Hope this helps you
