CPT Registration
Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is the entry level course and is same as Entrance Exams of Other Professional Organisations. Students interested in pursuing the Chartered Accountancy Course have to first apply for CPT Registration by purchasing the Brochure available at all the various branches of ICAI.
For the benefit of the Students, the facility of online submission of CPT Registration Form has also been started and the Students desirous of availing the same can logon to the following website of ICAI

http://www.icai.org/cptform.html

The CPT Registration Fees to be submitted along with the Application Form is as follows:-
Particulars Amount
Cost of Application Form Rs. 100
CPT Registration Fee Rs. 6000
Subscription for Students Journal (Optional but strongly recommended) Rs. 200
Subscription for Members Journal (Optional) Rs. 400

The Following Documents shall be enclosed along with the CPT Registration Form
• Demand Draft for the whole amount drawn in favour of “The Secretary, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India” In case the Student opts for submitting the Registration Form online – he would be required to make the payment via Debit/Credit Card.
• Attested Copy of Class X Pass Certificate
• Attested Copy of Class XII Pass Certificate

Eligibility for CPT Registration

CPT Exam is held twice a year in the month of June and December and to be eligible to appear for CPT Exam, a student should have registered 2 months prior to the month in which the Exam is scheduled to be held. Therefore, to appear for June Exams – a student should have applied for CPT Registration before 1st April and to be eligible to appear for December Exams – a student should have applied for CPT Registration before 1st October.
To be eligible to appear for CPT Exams, a student should have cleared/appeared for Class XII Exams. In case the Result of Class XII has not been declared at the time of registering for CPT, the students can apply for provisional registration and such students would have to furnish an attested copy of their passing certificate with ICAI on clearing the Class XII Exams.
There is no condition regarding the minimum marks that should be scored in Class XII Exams and everyone who has cleared the same is eligible to apply for CPT Exams.

In order to register for the Common Proficiency Test, you may either obtain the registration form from any of the Regional Offices/Branches of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or may download the application form from the official website of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

To be eligible to register for the Common Proficiency Test, you must have passed Secondary Examination from a recognized board but you will not be able to take the test unless you qualify the +2 level of examination. Candidates who have qualified +2 in any stream and with any combination of subjects may take the Common Proficiency Test.

The Registration Fee of Common Proficiency Test is Rs.6100.
