Re: Eligibility for National Eligibility test after scoring 52.9% of marks in master degree?

Dear Friend,

The National Eligibility Test is an examination which is conducted biannually by the University Grants Commission for those candidates who are interested in :

a) Junior Research Fellow Ship

b) Lecture Ship

The Test is conducted in the months of June and December every year.

The National Eligibility Test Eligibility Criteria includes :

* you must have completed post graduation in any discipline from any UGC recognized university.

* You must have a minimum of 55% marks in post graduation.

* The Age Limit is different for different posts :

a) For JRF , Its in between 21-27 years.

b) For Lecture Ship , there is no age limit.

* The candidate must be a citizen of India.

So , as you have 52.9% marks which means you don`t have the minimum required means.

So , you are not eligible for the National Eligibility Test.

This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want.

Re: Eligibility for National Eligibility test after scoring 52.9% of marks in master degree?

If you are General or OBC Category then you are not eligible for UGC NET because 55% is the basic criteria.

Those who belong to SC/ST Category need only 50% marks in Post Graduation.

So if you are SC/ST candidate then you won't have any problem and you can apply for it.

There is no age limit for UGC NET if one is applying for Lecturership.

For those who are applying for Junior Research Fellowships must be below 28 years of age.

Those who qualify NET can apply for Lecturer posts in any Government colleges.

If you are a General Category then there is no chance. So if you really like teaching as profession then you can opt for B.Ed course if you want to become teacher in schools.

After B.Ed you can apply for TET and if you qualify then you can apply for Teachers post in government schools.

So if you are not eligible for UGC NET then don't worry and apply for some other jobs which suits you Or go for government jobs.

To get government jobs you have to get good marks in written exam and interview.

Re: Eligibility for National Eligibility test after scoring 52.9% of marks in master degree?

National Eligibility Test(NET) is conducted by University Grant Commission(UGC) for selection of Lectureship and award to Junior Research Fellowship(JRF).

Eligibility for NET:-

-The candidate must be an Indian National
-Should have completed Post Graduation in any stream with 55%marks(5o% for SC/ST Candidate) from a recognised University.
-There is no upper age limit for those applying for Lectureship but the candidate applying for JRF should be within the age of 28 years within upper age relaxation for reserved candidate.

Hence with a score of 52% in Master Degree if you are from a reserved category candidate as stated above then you are eligible for NET.

Re: Eligibility for National Eligibility test after scoring 52.9% of marks in master degree?

National Eligibility Test (NET) is for Junior Research Fellowship and college lectureship. It is a national level entrance exam conducted by the University Grants Commission.

You have to be more specific about being from backward caste. Do you belong to SC/ST or the OBC. If you belong to SC/ST then you can appear for the National Eligibility Test.

However in case of OBC, I am afraid it would not be possible since your percentage is not good enough. In the National Eligibility Test, the relaxation in the percentage is only given to SC and ST. This relaxation is not given to OBC candidate.

Therefore please only apply if you belong to Schedule Caste or Schedule Tribe category. Kindly check out the criteria that I am mentioning below:

Eligibility

1. Firstly the applicant has to be Indian national.

2. Minimum of post graduation degree is necessary.

3. Must have obtained minimum of 55 percent marks.

4. SC/ST can apply with at least 50 percent marks.

5. Even final year students are eligible.

6. But only appear during final year if assured of meeting percentage.

7. There is no limit on appearances.

8. You should select NET subject related to your PG course.

9. The age limit is 28 years but for JRF applicants.

10. 3 years relaxation for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST.

11. There is no upper age limit to apply for NET for college lectureship.
