 VAO Exam Details: ** Tamilnadu Public Service Commission conducts an examination for the post of Village Administrative Officers whenever there is a vacancy for this post. The notifications for this exam is published in two parts:- one is for the SC/ST candidates and the next one is for all the other categories. ** Out of all the total seats vacant some are kept reserved. For Women: 30% of the seats. For Ex-Servicemen: 5% of the seats. For Physically Handicapped: 3% of the seats. ** You need to have a secondary school leaving certificate to give this exam. This is the minimum qualification required. Even if you have higher qualifications then also you should have S.S.L.C certificate to show. ** The lower age limit for giving this exam is 21 years. The upper age limit for general category candidates is 30 and for reserved category candidates is 40 years. ** You should be well versed in Tamil language because you will be posted in the villages of Tamilnadu. So this is an important criteria no doubt. ** If you do not know the language well then also you can give this exam. But after getting selected you need to sit for the Tamil language exam which is conducted by the TNPSC. This needs to be done within two yeas from the date of selection. ** Only physically fit candidates can sit for this exam. To prove your medical fitness you need to show medical certificates to the authorities concerned during examination time. ** Selection procedure is basically based on the written examination only. You should aim to get good marks to stay in contention. Better the marks, more will be your chances of making it to the next round of selection. ** For the exam questions will come from the following sections: General Knowledge General Tamil/General English ** Questions will be of S.S.L.C. standard. You need to answer 200 questions of 300 marks in three hours' time. Out of the 300 marks allotted for the exam you need to get minimum 90 marks to qualify. ** Cost of the application form: Rs. 150 for general category candidates and Rs. 50 for reserved category candidates.
