Re: Is Karnataka state open university approved by AICTE? Hi, I have enrolled myself in MTECH (E.C.) in 2011 and completed all semesters in 2013. I have all semesters mark sheets. Now I want to get my degree but heard that it's difficult to get degree from KSOU. Kindly advise the procedure and total time duration to get the degree. Also, can I get job of lecturer by showing KSOU degree. |

Re: Is Karnataka state open university approved by AICTE? Approval from AICTE is needed only for colleges. Only colleges should have approved by any UGC approved university as well as AICTE. But KOSU is University and it is approved by UGC and DEC and UGC-DEC joint committee, so no need of approval from AICTE. I.e why it is not approved by AICTE. AICTE approval needs only for colleges and institution. |

I, Sri PRIYARANJAN MISTRY(In-service teacher) from Kolkata passed M.A. Final'2013 in Sanskrit from ALGOL Universal Trust and M.A. Previous'2012 from Need Foundation's GLORIOLE(Global Eduversity) which are said to be affiliated Institute under KSOU. Whether they are genuine organisation or not? So please tell me this certificate is valid for applying any examination in india such as UPSC, NET,SET,SSC etc. |

The acronym for AICTE is All India Council for Technical Education. No, Karnataka State Open University is not approved by AICTE. This university is approved by UGC(University Grants Commission). |

All the universities who offer Technical degree courses must have got approval from the AICTE to offer these courses to the students. As far as i am concerned , the Karnataka State Open University is not approved by the AICTE. However , the university has got the recognition from the UGC [University Grants Commission]. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want. |

And if yes then this course must be in equal weightage to AMIE(Institution of Engineers) which is not approved by AICTE. So will KSOU Engineering courses with other affiliations ( i.e.approval from Min of HRD) will get eligibility like AMIE for the UPSC exams, Central & State Govt. Jobs, GATE exams etc. Please anyone to clarify. |
