The acronym for IPS is Indian Police Services.

IPS examination is also known as civil service examination, which is conducted by UPSC every year.

The eligibility criteria required for IPS examination are prescribed as below:-

* Completion of graduation in any discipline from any recognised college or university.

* Age limit- 21-30 yrs.

* Age relaxation- 3 yrs for OBC, 5 yrs for SC/ST contendors, and 10 yrs for PWD contendors.

* No. of attempts- 4 for General, 7 for OBC and no limits for SC/ST contendors.

* Nationality- Indian.

* Physical eligibility-

civil services examination being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year.The selection procedure to become an IPS Officer is by
CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test)
-Civil Services Main Examination
-Interview.Here is the required eligibility criteria to appear for CSAT Exam.Academic Qualification :you should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.if you are pursuing final year of Graduation are also eligible to apply for this Exam.

For IPS officer you can applied and crack the civil services exam conducted by UPSC every year and your age will between 21 to 30.There are 3 attempts for general category and for SC/ST/OBC they have 5 attempts for this exam.

Hi Friend,

to become an IPS officer one has to succesfully complete the Civil services examination.
this exam is conducted by UPSC.

the eligibility criteria for appearing in UPSC examination is:

education:

should be a graduate from any recognised university or
a candidate who is pursuing his final year.

age:

general: 21-30
age relaxation: 3 years for OBC
5 years for SC and ST
10 years for PHC

no of attempts:
4 for general
7 for OBC
no limit on number of attempts for SC and ST.

scheme of examination:
one has to undergo written examination.
then mains on selected subjects.
personal interview.

if you crack this then you can become IPS officer.

IPS- INDIAN POLICE SERVICE, to became an IPS officer you have to appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year for recruitment for the various top administrative Dept. of Govt. of India.

One must be a graduate from a recognised University from any discipline within the age group of 21 to 30 years of age in order to appear for Civil Service Exam.

The aforesaid exam comprises of three phases:-

CSAT- Civil Service Aptitude Test - Preliminary exam.
Civil Service Main Exam.
Personal Interview.

As you have completed B.Com and CA, You are eligible to appear for Civil Service Exam. For more information you may log on to www.upsc.gov.in

In order to become IPS Officer, one has to crack civil services examination being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year.

Academic Qualification :

-Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category and upto 5 years for the candidates of SC/ST category.

So, you are eligible to appear for this Exam as you have completed B.Com course and CA course.

Choose the optional subjects for Main Exam which you are interested and in which you are having some previous subject knowledge.

The upcoming CSAT Exam is going to be conduted on 20-05-2012.
