I am sorry to say, but Most of the Universities have the following eligibility criteria for BCA :- > Passed +2 from any recognized board/University. > Must have Mathematics as Compulsory subject in +2. Every top University/College demands these two criteria at least. Moreover, If you are thinking to do it without maths from some poor low grade college, then let me warn you , that you will lead your future in darkness. It would be a wise option to leave BCA (As you are not eligible if not having Mathematics in +2) and carry some other options such as BBA, Hotel Management, Tourism, BA, LLB, etc. All the best..!! No my friend, If you have completed your 12th without mathematics then you can not go for BCA because mathematics is important for BCA as well as for BBA. BCA stands for Bachelor of Computer Application and it is the graduation course which is all about the computers and after it you can go for MCA which is the masters in computer field. If you have completed your MCA then you will get a job in some good software companies.There are lots of software companies for which you can go for a job.  The some of the software companies are as follows:- 1.Wipro 2.TCS 3.Infosys 4.Tech Mohindra 5.Google 6.Microsoft 7.IBM etc. The commerce students with mathematics and non-medical students are eligible for BCA but the rest of the students are not eligible for it. So my friend,you have to go for other courses in which you are eligible.The eligibility criteria is different for different course. Thank u!! |

So you need either business maths or general maths as a subject in 12th std for joining BCA. Otherwise you have to search for any small colleges to give you BCA with out maths. |

As you do not have mathematics in 12th, but if you have computer science in 12th then you can do BCA. Some universities allow those students, who don't have mathematics or computer in class 12th. you can go for that if you don't get chance in good institution for example; Sikkim & Manipal university. For the admission to BCA, you can directly approach to the institution with your 12th marks. They will tell you the procedure of entrance examination. All the best..................... |

Hi, Yes Definately You Can Do BCA After Completing 12th If You Dont Have Maths In Your 12th Exams, To Get Admission In BCA, You Required Computer Science Subjects In Your 12th Class, So, If You Have CS In Your 12th Then You Are Eligible to Get Admission In BCA, Maths Is Not Required To get Admission In BCA. So, To Get Admission In BCA, You Have To scored Good Marks In Your 12th Exams, Manny Colleges will offer This Course Directly, Without Any Entrance. But If You Want To get Admission In Top Colleges, Then You Have to Appear For Entrance Exams. So, If You Dont Have Maths In Your 12th Exams, Then You Can Get Admission In BCA, But You have CS Subject In Your 12th Exams. Thanks |

Yes you can do BCA without having math in +2 level and you need to have at-least 60% but in some institute they may prefer for 65% to 70% student so its purely depends on university! but try to take maths subject in BCA course as it will be compulsory if you going to do MCA..as maths should be there either in graduation level or +2 level.... and now onwards there will be change in criteria i.e students need not have Certificate in Computing (CIC) to get admission into BCA and MCA courses offered by IGNOU. Some of the best university for BCA are symbiosis mdu university and Bharati Vidyapeeth for Bharati Vidyapeeth notification come in Mid week of June, so keep checking the wesite 2011 www.bvimr.com hope this fulfill your requirement!! |

You need to have good command on computers........and you can easily get admission in many good reputed institutes offering BCA course.......however there are a few well known reputed colleges where entrance exam is taken and the eligibility for that is you need to have 60% and above in your 12th....... best of luck........ |

Re: Can I Do BCA Without Having Mathematics in 12th? You did not mention whether you are having Computers as one of the subject in your 10+2 or not. In order to join BCA, the Mathematics as one of the subject in 10+2 is not mandatory. You can join in good colleges without having Mathematics in your 10+2. Even without having computers as one of the subjects in your 10+2 also, you can join BCA in some colleges. I don't know why you are willing shift from Commerce to BCA (technical). I think it may be because of your interest. Anyway learn good subject knowledge after joining BCA and you have plenty of opportunities in the IT companies |

Academic Eligibility Criteria for BCA Course Candidate must have completed Higher Secondary Examination or equivalent The minimum marks secured in 12th standard should be at least 50% The candidate should have pursued the science subjects. The science subjects should include Physics and Chemistry Most institutes insist candidates should have pursued Mathematics during 12th standard as you don't have maths so you can not apply bca in reputed collegesbut there are still some colleges which don't demand there eligibility . |

The renowned institutes admit students who have maths as a main subject in 12th standard. Maths also be compensated by the subject computer science, so if you had computer science in 10(+2), you can go for BCA. Good luck! |
