Yes, you can appear for as a single subject.
For this, you will have to fill CBSE Improvement Form for only Biology Subject from your school office or regional office of CBSE.
These forms come generally in July or August.
Then, you will appear next year as a private candidate.

Good Luck!![/QUOTE]

Re: Can one appear for CBSE biology as a single subject next year?

hi,
I didnt understand your question completely. However i think you mean to say that is it possible to answer 1 subject next year.

Yes you can surely answer selected subjects in CBSE. During form filling you have to mention the subjects which you want to answer

and if you mean to say that you want to answer bio after you already passed your board with maths as a subject. I dont think whether its possible to answer bio after you enrolled for maths in you 12th.

But i may be wrong you can conform with the CBSE officials on this matter
thank

Re: Can one appear for CBSE biology as a single subject next year?

What I wanted to know is that if a student has already cleared his class XII with maths, physics, chemistry(no biology) inthe previous year, can he take up only Biology next year and appear the boards for the same so that he has both the career options.
I hope I am clear this time.

Re: Can one appear for CBSE biology as a single subject next year?

There is a thing like improvement exam through which you can appear for the exam in which you score less, again. But you need to apply for it.For the procedure please see www.cbse.nic.in
and there is still a doubt , you want to say your subject was maths and now you want to appear with biology??
Because this is not possible through improvement you will have to take admission in 12th again and then change your subjest, attain regular classes and will have to get good marks.

Re: Can one appear for CBSE biology as a single subject next year?

Dear friend

I think its not possible to appear for CBSE biology as a single subject next year, if you have already passed with maths.

But, i will suggest you, just contact the CBSE authority to get more detail regarding
your question, they will definately provide you better information Or you can also
contact to your school authority, they will also give you detail, if you are appeared
biology as a single subject next year or not.......

Re: Can one appear for CBSE biology as a single subject next year?

Hello friend,
If biology was one of the main subject and was placed compartment, you can appear for exam again to write the particular subject for a maximum of 5 attempts.
For any further information do visit the official website of CBSE.

Hi
Your query is not clear.
Why do you want to appear next year.
Only for improvement a student can write exam again.
I didnt understand .
if you are giving this because of improvement then fine either it is difficult.
good luck
