I got 17.70 marks in gate and be civil average 75 percent I am sc student can I get admission in m tech

If an obc category student gets a better rank than general category student, then, will obc category student be considered as general category student?

GATE is an interence exam after doing btech in any field....for clearing this exam you have to gain marks more than the cut off marks.
GATE means....graduate aptitude test in engineering.
it provides MTECH for the btech students after graduation

what is the meaning of 'gate qualified'?which percentile marks and rank are needed if I want to be admitted in m.tech in INSTRUMENTATION(IN) stream in different IITs, NITs, JADEBPUR.SHIBPUR etc ?
