Re: Merchant Navy eligiblity after 12th and forms availability Yes You can apply to merchant navy in different fields like B.Tech Naval Architecture and Ship Building, Marine Engineering, B.Sc Nautical Science, Diploma in Nautical Science Pre-Sea Training etc. The lowest qualification needed is a +2 pass with 60% marks. The aspirants have to write the ALL INDIA MERCHANT NAVY ENTRANCE TEST. Visit the official website of Bharat shipping as to get more information. |

Re: Merchant Navy eligiblity after 12th and forms availability For girls %u2013 what is a minimum requirement (physical/educational/financial) to join merchant navy? Please give us detail about the course/diploma i.e. doing after this course/diploma we can appoint directly for doing job in merchant navy(without enterence exam). After doing such type of a course if there is any physical inability for eg. Weight not as per your requirement then this girl can eligible for doing job. Now I am in 7th Std. but I want to do my career in merchant navy. Pl guide/prepare accordingly so that in future it becomes easy to me to get a job/career in merchant navy. |

The three major tasks to be performed in Merchant navy are in the Deck,Engine and catering. For joining in Merchant Navy the most common ways are by doing the courses like B.E/M.E in Marine Engineering or B.sc Nautical Science.If you do any of these courses then you can join in Merchant Navy. The eligibility which you would need to do these courses are listed below: B.E Marine Engineering: Duration: 4 years Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English B.S.C Nautical Science: Duration: 3 years Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English M.E Marine Engineering: Duration: 2 years Eligibility: B.E Marine Engineering. Re: Merchant Navy eligiblity after 12th and forms availability Ships can broadly be categorised as : Passenger ships – which carry passengers Cargo ships – which carries cargo in solid, liquid and gaseous forms Specialized ships For getting into Merchant Navy you need to be Qualified in the Entrance Exam. The Eligibility for getting into Merchant Navy : The Qualification process is based on educational, qualification, age, and physical standards. You should have passed 10 and 12 standard or a Diploma holder with a minimum mark of 55% from any recognized board of education. If applying after 12th standard your age must not be less than 20, and in case of any graduate your age must not be more than 22. There is an age relaxation available for female (2 yrs) and SC/ST /OBC (5 yrs) candidates. The eyesight should be 6/6 in each eye without any visual problem. The Online test: 19th December 2010 to 21st December 2011 |
