which is the exam conduct for it and what is the eligibility for that exam and sir also told me syllabus for RTO entrance exam and date also.

R.T.O Officer is known as Regional Transport Officer exam. This exam is conducted by the State Public Service Commission. Basically there are three types of posts. They are:
  • R.T.O Clerk
  • R.T.O Judicial
  • R.T.O Sub Assistant

The eligibility details of all these posts are mentioned below:

  • R.T.O Clerk

* Candidate must be a citizen of India.
* The minimum age required is 18 years.
* The maximum age upto which a candidate can apply is 32 years.
* Coming to the educational qualification, graduation is must from any recognized university.
* Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories.
* 5 years for SC/ST category candidates.
* 3 years for OBC category candidates.
* 10 years for physically handicapped candidates.
* 5 years for Ex-Service men category candidates.

  • R.T.O Judicial

* Candidate must be a citizen of India.
* The minimum age required is 23 years.
* The maximum age upto which a candidate can apply is 30 years.
* Coming to the educational qualification, graduation in Law is must from any recognized university.
* Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories.
* 5 years for SC/ST category candidates.
* 3 years for OBC category candidates.
* 10 years for physically handicapped candidates.
* 5 years for Ex-Service men category candidates.

  • R.T.O Sub Assistant

* Candidate must be a citizen of India.
* The minimum age required is 21 years.
* The maximum age upto which a candidate can apply is 32 years.
* Coming to the educational qualification, graduation is must from any recognized university.
* Graduation in fields of Mechanical and Civil.
* Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories.
* 5 years for SC/ST category candidates.
* 3 years for OBC category candidates.
* 10 years for physically handicapped candidates.
* 5 years for Ex-Service men category candidates.

Coming to the exam pattern, there will be a written test and an interview. Candidates who have qualified in the written test are eligible for the interview process. These are the details of the R.T.O exam.

>Judicial Post


Eligibility Criteria for the Clerical Post:-

>You should be a minimum class 12 pass out
>Your age should be between 18-37 years.

Eligibility Criteria for the Sub Engineer Post:-

>You should have a four year engineering degree
>Your age should not be more than 37 years.

Eligibility Criteria for the Judicial Post:-

>You should have a degree in law from a recognized university.
>Your minimum age should be 23.

Exam Pattern of the RTO Exam:-

>General Studies
>English Language
>General Studies I
>General Studies II

Regional Transport Officer exam is conducted by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission.At present Notification has not been published for this post.Exam Notification for this post comes in the month of November every year.Written exam is conducted in the month of December in the same year.Candidates who are interested to apply for this exam will required to fulfill certain eligibility conditions.These are :

Educational qualification :

  • Your minimum educational qualification should be Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Mechanical Engineering from recognized university.
  • If you have a bachelor degree then it should be approved from UGC.
  • If you have an engineering degree then it should be approved from the AICTE.
Age Requirement :
  • For the post of clerk,your minimum age should be 18 years.
  • For the post of Assistant Officer,your minimum age should be 21 years.
  • Your age should not be above 35 years.
Exam Pattern for Regional Transport Officer
  • This exam will conducted into two phases.
  • These are Preliminary and Mains Exam.
  • Each exam will include 100 questions.
  • Preliminary exam will be objective and Mains exam will be Conventional.
  • Preliminary exam will include questions from General Sections.
  • Mains Exam will include questions from Technical sections.
Syllabus for Preliminary Exam


General English and Comprehension.
General Knowledge.
Quantitative Aptitude.
Logical Reasoning.


Syllabus for mains Exam
This exam will be given by those candidates who will get pass in preliminary exam.In this exam questions will be asked from candidates technical background.To prepare for this sections you should refer your technical course books.
