You can join Indian Air Force through CDSE and AFCAT if you are a B.Tech. in ECE.

CDS exam is conducted by UPSC and it is conducted for all the three Branches of Defense i.e Army , Air Force and Navy.


Age Limit for CDS Exam:

Indian Air Force Academy - 19 to 23 years

Indian Naval Academy- 19 to 22 years

Indian Military Academy - 19 to 24 years

Officers' Training Academy - 19 to 25 years

Selection Procedure:

-Written Exam



-SSB Interview

-Medical Examination

AFCAT is Air Force Common Admission Test and it is conducted for Flying Branch , Technical Branch and Ground Duty Branch.

As you are Engineering Graduate means you are eligible for for any Branch. The age limit differs for all the branch based on the qualification.The selection will be based on the performance in the written exam, SSB and Medical examination.

Yes,you will be eligible to apply for Indian Air-Force after completing your B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering.After completing your Engineering you will have to apply for AFCAT (Air-Force Common Admission Test) Exam conducted by the Indian Air-Force.To apply for this you will; have to meet these Eligibility conditions :

Nationality

Indian

Martial Status

Unmarried

Educational qualification :
  • Your bachelor degree should be from recognized university and it should be approved from the AICTE.
  • You must have studied Mathematics as one of the paper in Inter level.
  • English should be your compulsory paper in Inter level.
Marks required :
  • Your minimum marks in Bachelor degree should be 60%.
  • Candidates who have done engineering in Aeronautical Engineering will get 5% relaxation in marks.
Age Required

1) For Flying Branch : Minimum 19 years and Maximum 23 years.
2) For Technical Branch : Minimum 18 years and Maximum 28 years.
3) For Ground Duty Branch : Minimum 20 years and Maximum 27 years.


Note :-
  • To apply for Technical Branch you should have an Engineering degree in Aeronautical.
  • Candidates must be passed out in AMIE (Associate Membership of Institution of Aeronautical society of India) for Mechanical Branch.
  • Candidates must be passed out in Graduate Membership Examination of the Institute of Electronics and Communication Engineers for Electronics Branch.

Its great opportunity to you to serve for your own country,if you have the caliber you must join the Indian Air-force.

As you have already completed your graduation level,then you can apply for then you can get chance to take admission in Indian Airforce.

There are some selection procedure such as:

Combined Defense Services (CDS) Exam is generally conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) to recuirt the Indian Military Academy(IMA), Officers Training Academy(OTA), Naval Academy and Air Force Academy(AFA)

According to the Eligibility Criteria:

Flying branch as pilot will be selected through Short Service Commission for men & women

Age:

i)19 to 23 years
ii)19 to 25 years for CPL Holders which is issued by DGCA ,India.
Upper age limit is relaxed up to 25 years.

Marital Status:
You have to be Single.

Nationality:
You have to be Indian

Gender:
Men and women can apply for the examination.

Educational Qualifications

1:You have to be Graduate of 3 years course in any discipline from a recognised university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together and have Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.

or
You should have a degree of BE / B Tech of 4 years course from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together.

2. Final year students can also apply,having no backlog and minimum 60 % aggregate marks in the previous year's semesters.

Generally,the notice is published in the month of March and September every year.

i m kranthi n i m studying b.tech ece in amrita university (kollam).i was more interested in joining indian airforce n iwant to do my service there .but i donno.. the way to enter into my interested airforce. i want some clear cut information regarding this topic........vil u please send the info that i need.......
