Re: How much percentage is needed for Law?

It depends whether you have completed 12th standard or graduation. Because depending on your qualification there are 2 different LLB degrees to pursue. Although I should clear it that there is no difference between the two degrees.

If you have completed 12th standard only the integrated LLB degree is the one to apply. The duration of this degree in 5 years. It is combination of a bachelor degree like B.Com, BA etc and the LLB course.

You can appear for Common Law Admission Test to get admission for this course. The CLAT entrance exam is conducted for National Law University.

CLAT Eligibility

1. You should have passed 12th standard.

2. With minimum of 45 percent marks.

3. SC/ST would require 40 percent marks.

4. You should be less than 20 years to apply.

5. 2 years relaxation for SC/ST/PWD.

However if you have completed graduation then there is no need to apply for the integrated course. There is no need to do graduation again and instead you should only apply for the LLB degree of 3 years duration.

You can apply for the course from various colleges including Banaras Hindu University and the Delhi University. The criteria for percentage could vary from college to college and while some give admission on merit, other universities like DU conducts entrance exam.

LLB Eligibility

1. A bachelor degree should have been obtained.

2. 45 to 50 percent marks in qualifying course.

3. There is 5 percent relaxation for SC/ST.

4. No percentage criteria for SC/ST in Delhi University.

5. You should be less than 30 years to apply.

6. The age limit is 35 years for SC/ST.
