SSC Eligibility Criteria: For Combined Graduate Level Examination minimum qualification is Graduation. For SSC Combined Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) candidates minimum qualification must be Matric.

General Candidate’s age limit is 18 to 27 years. SC/ST candidates have age relaxation of 5 years. For OBC Candidates age relaxation is 3 years. For physically handicapped candidates age relaxation is 10 years.

Candidates must be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugee or a person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Kenya etc.

Staff Selection Commission: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts exam make recruitments to non technical groups ‘C’ and non-gazetted posts of group ‘B’. For various recruitments SSC helds a Combined Graduate level Exam and SSC Combined Higher Secondary Examination (10+2).

SSC Selection Procedure: SSC conducts Common Written Exam and Interviews, Skill Test & Typing Test to hire the eligible candidates. Detailed description of Selection Procedure and Eligibility Criteria in SSC exam is mentioned below: (GK Preparation 2012)

SSC Combined Higher Secondary Examination (10+2): SSC conducts Combined All India Open Examination at 10+2 level. In this exam firstly written exam is held and then on the basis of performance in written exam candidates are selected for Skill Test.

SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination: In this exam candidates are selected on the basis of 3 tiers.

Tier I: In Tier I a written exam is held (MCQ based) in which questions from General Intelligent & Reasoning, General Awareness, Numerical Aptitude and English Comprehension are given. This exam is of 200 marks.

Tier-II: It consists of three papers as Arithmetical Ability, English Language & Comprehension and Commerce/ Maths /Statistics/Economics. Total marks are 600 in this written exam.

Tier-III: In Tier-III Personality Test/ Interview/ Computer Proficiency Test or Skill Test helds.
After these exams and Interview or skill test SSC published All India Merit List for each category. On the basis of this list candidates are appointed for each category depending on the vacancies available.
