Re: Can I apply for IPS exam after completing my graduation? I have scored 37%

You are needlessly worrying about the Civil Services Examination. If you want to apply for Indian Police Service then you only need a graduation degree. As long as you have passing marks, there is no issue.

As a matter of fact, there is no percentage criteria for the Indian Police Service or Indian Administrative Service. Both the exams are conducted under Civil Services Examination.

Therefore the bottom line is that you can appear for the Indian Police Service however since you didn't do well in the degree course, It will require a big push to clear Civil Services Examination.

You should take admission for coaching classes to prepare for Civil Services Examination. If you want to prepare on your own, then better start it with NCERT books for 12th standard.

Download the previous years papers of Indian Police Service from internet and solve them. See where you fare badly and work on it. Apart from all this, you should read newspapers, political magazines and watch a lot of news to prepare for the Civil Services Examination.

IPS Eligibility

1. It is necessary that your nationality is citizen.

2. Can appear for exam after completing graduation.

3. Marks scored in graduation are not considered.

4. Must have turned 21 years to apply.

5. Upper age limit is 30 years for the same.

6. Relaxation of 3 years is given to OBC.

7. The relaxation is 5 years for SC and ST.

Selection Procedure

1. Preliminary Exam

2. Main Exam

3. Interview
