MBA stands for Master of Business Administration. MCA stands for Master of Computer Applications.

The duration of MBA course is 2 years and that of MCA course is 3 years.

MBA course is Management related. Managing the things in various domains will be taught in MBA course. MCA is a technical related course. Information regarding various technologies will be offered to the candidates in MCA course.

In order to join MBA course, one have to crack any of the following Entrance Exams
CAT
MAT
GMAT
XAT etc.

To join MCA course, each and every university is conducting its own Entrance Exam.

If you want to get admission for MCA course in NITs, you have to crack NIMCET Exam.

I am not the right person to decide the best course between MBA and MCA for you.

You are the right person to decide as you know your strengths and interests better than me.

If you have interest to do Post Graduation course in technical related stream, then join MCA course.

Otherwise join MBA course (if having interest in Management field).

MCA candidates will be having job opportunities in IT sector. MBA candidates will be having job opportunities in all the sectors.

MCA candidates will get good salaries in all the jobs. MBA candidates are not like that.

In some jobs, MBA people will receive top salaries and in some other jobs, they receive low salaries.

Some of the popular specializations in MBA course are
MBA in Finance
MBA in Marketing Management
MBA in Human Resource Management
MBA in Retail Management etc.

Choose the course which you are interested and make most out of it.

Wish you all the best.

You can select either of the courses according to your choice. If you are interested to have a career in software field, then you can join to MCA course. MBA degree is suitable for candidates who are interested to have a job in management/administration. Both these courses allows you to apply for 'Specialist Officer' in banks. MCA graduates are usually recruited to the profile of Programmer/Software professional where as MBA graduates can join to Manager profiles.

Master of Business Administration [MBA] and Master of Computer Applications [MCA] both are post graduate program. After the completion of bachelors degree program in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks, candidate are eligible for the MBA program. Admission are based on entrance exam such as CAT, MAT, XAT etc which are followed by group discussions and personal Interview. Candidate seeking for career in Management may look to opt for MBA. The program offers a wide variety of specialisation like marketing, HR, finance, productions, international business, IT, etc.

On the other hand, MCA provides in dept knowledge about computers and their applications. Candidate who have good logical and analytical mind along with interest for technology and computers, may look to pursue the program. To get admission in most of the Institutes for MCA program candidate must have scored a minimum of 55% to 60% marks and must have studied Mathematics in either +2 level or higher level.

So, the decision is entirely on the individual. One may pursue any of the mentioned programs according to the field of interest and strength.
