Re: What is the procedure of CA after M.Com?

Hi dear

CA includes 3 levels
CPT
IPCC
FINAL

Both graduates and master degree holders have same option ie they can skip CPT and can directly enter into IPCC.

The syllabus and fees structure are same for all even for CPT route students, or bcom or mcom students.

Regards.

dear friend

ca after m.com not at all a bad choice, but even you can go for clearing net and start your carrier as lecturer in colleges which will be getting a job in short time,

but definitely ca is not a bad choice after m.com

as you are graduate if you have minimum 55% marks in your graduation then go for direct entry in ca ipcc

as per new notification of icai students with b.com background are allowed for a direct entry to ipcc if they have minimum 55% in graduation

when you join ipcc you will have to go for a 2.5 year articleship and ipcc after 9months of registration for ipcc course

and after 2.5 years you are eligible for ca final if you clear your ipc exams,

good luck

Re: What is the procedure of CA after M.Com?

Its certainly not a bad choice. You can definitely apply for the Chartered Accountancy course. And I will suggest you to do so since the requirement of CA is quite high in private sector.

Apart from working for some firm, you can work independently and start your own accounting firm in the future. Let me tell you that M.Com graduates can also apply for the Chartered Accountancy.

You will first have to clear Common Proficiency Test. But in case you have completed Bachelor of Commerce course with 55 percent marks, then it is no longer necessary to appear for it.

There is exemption under the rules of ICAI. Under which if you have completed Commerce graduation with 55 percent and non commerce graduation with 60 percent then there is no need to appear for the Common Proficiency Test.

You can simply go ahead with IPCC course. So depending on it you should see whether its necessary to appear for the Common Proficiency Test or you can take admission for the IPCC course.

If you are getting exemption then directly take admission for IPCC. You will have to study for 9 months after which you can give first group examination of IPCC. Following which you will have to register for the 3 years long Articleship.

During the articleship you will complete the second group of IPCC and then Final Examination. Please remember that you will have to complete 30 months of Articleship before you can actually appear for the Final Examination.

The procedure of course will remain same even if you are not getting exemption from Common Proficiency Test. Instead of direct admission to IPCC, you will first have to clear the CPT.

There are two sections in the Common Proficiency Test. Both has two subjects. There are total 200 questions in the test of 1 mark each. There is also negative marking of 0.25 on each incorrect answer.

Both sections are of 100 marks. You will have to score at least 30 percent marks in each section to clear the Common Proficiency Test, otherwise will be asked to appear once again.

The next Common Proficiency Test is scheduled to take place in December. In case you have to appear for it, better register within the time given by the ICAI. Please visit the official website of ICAI to get more details regarding registering for the Common Proficiency Test or taking direct admission for the IPCC course.
