TNPSC Group I & II Exam age limit :

min of age limit 18 years

max of age limit 32 years

the upper age relation as per govt rules

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has issued the notification of recruitment for various posts included in Group-I and Group - II

Age Limit For TNPSC Group - 1

Minimum 21 yrs and Maximum 30 yrs

Age Limit For TNPSC Group - 2

For general category – 18 to 30 years

For SC/ ST/ OBC/ Widows of all caste – 18 to 35 years

For Junior employment officer 20 to 30 years.

For Sub- Registrar 18 to 40 years

I am working as Inspector of Police in Tamilnadu Police Department. My age is 38 completed. I belong to OBC community. My question is Whether am I eligible to write Group 1 or Group 2 exam? I put 15 years of service in Tamilnadu Police.

Details for GROUP I Exam

You should have a Bachelor degree in Engineering/MBBS(for specific Posts) from recognized university.
Engineering degree should be approved from AICTE.
Medical degree should be approved from Medical Council of India.
Minimum age should be 21 years.
Maximum age should not be above 35 years.

Details for GROUP II Exam

Your minimum qualification should be Intermediate passed out in nay discipline from recognized board/university.
Your minimum age should be 18 years.
Your age should not be above 32 years.
Your minimum marks in Inter should be 50% and for Reserved category 45%.
You should have a typing degree which should be approved from technical education of Tamil Nadu.

Exam Pattern

Exam will be taken in two stages :- Preliminary and Mains.
Total duration for Preliminary exam will be 3 hours and it will be 300 marks.
All questions in Preliminary exam will be objective type.
Mains exam will include two set and each set will be of 300 marks.
Each set will be of 2 hours.

Important :-
~Age relaxation given to OBC and MBA up to 5 Years.
~There is NO age Limit for SC/ST Category.

Syllabus for Preliminary Exam :-

General English/General Tamil.
General science - History,Geography,General mental ability,Current events and Reasoning.

Syllabus for Mains Exam

Paper I

Modern History of India and Indian Culture.
Current events on national and international issues.
Statistical analysis.Diagrams and Graphs.
Questions related to social problems.

Paper II

Indian Politics.
Indian Economy and Geography of India.
Role and Impact of Science and Technology in India's Developments.
Tamil language and about its society,culture and Heritage.
