UPSC stands for the Union Public Service Commission. The UPSC conducts various examination to recruit candidates on several posts.The well known examinations conducted by the UPSC are mentioned below: * Civil Services Examination * IES Examination * CDS Examination Below I am going to mention the eligibility criteria for each examination a candidate must have: # Civil Services Examination * A candidate must be graduate in any stream from a recognized College / University with minimum qualifying marks in Graduation. * Final year candidates of Graduation are also eligible for this examination. * Age limit eligibility differs according to different categories: General - 21 - 30 years * A relaxation in upper age of 3 years and 5 years is granted to candidates belonging to OBC nad SC/ST categories. * Citizenship - Indian * No. of Attempts also vary according to the govt. quota policy : General Candidates - 4 OBC Candidates - 7 SC/ST Candidates : No Limit set for these category candidates. # The Eligibility Criteria for IES Exam are : * Candidate completed B.E. / B. Tech from recognized college / university * Final year students are also eligible to apply * The exam is conducted in four field of Engineering : i) Mechanical Engineering ii) Electrical Engineering iii) Electronics & Communication Engineering iv) Civil Engineering * Age - 21 - 30 years. A relaxation in upper age of 3 years is granted to OBC candidates and 5 years of SC/ST candidates. # The Eligibility Criteria a candidate must have for CDS examination are : * Graduation in any stream from recognized college / university. * The Age limit criterion is different for each academy : i) Indian Military Academy - 19-22 years ii) Naval Academy - 19-23 years iii) Air Force Academy - 19-24 years iv) For Officer`s Training Academy - 19-25 years * Citizenship - Indian. * Fitness - Mentally & Physically fit. The Union Public Service Commission conducts a number of examinations at national level for the recruitment of candidates in various departments. So , the eligibility criteria for all the UPSC Examinations differ from each other but as you are an engineering student , the UPSC Examinations for which you can apply are : ** Civil Services Examination ** Indian Engineering Services Examination ** Combined Defense Services Examination The Eligibility Criteria Required for Civil Services Examination are : ** The candidate must have completed graduation in any stream from any recognized college/university. ** Candidates in final year of graduation can also apply. ** There is no percentage bar for this exam. ** The Age Limit for this exam is 21-30 years for candidates belonging to Open Category. ** A Relaxation of 3 years is given to OBC Candidates whereas a 5 years relaxation is given to SC/ST Candidates. ** The Candidate must be an Indian Citizen. ** Number of Attempts : a) For General Candidates : 4 b) For OBC Candidates : 7 c) For SC/ST Candidates : No Limit. Is engineering beneficial to me Dear Friend UPSC stands for the Union Public service commission.It is the examination conducting council of India that conducts different entrance exams at national level so as to recruit candidates to the different government departments. The eligibility criteria for different exams are different ,basically bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university is required with different age limits. Yes,it will be beneficial ,being a control engineer ,you are eligible for the following UPSC exams mentioned below: 1.Civil services examinations: 2.Indian Forest services 3.Indian Engineering services. >>The age limit for all the above mentioned exams is 21-30 years and relaxation of three years to obc and five years to the sc/st respectively. >>There are four attempts for the general candidates ,seven for obc and no limit for sc/st respectively. >>You must be an Indian citizen For you ,Engineering services will be the most preferred one . 4.Combined defense services . >>Age limit is 19-25 years.Unmarried male and female both candidates can apply for the exam. 5.Central Armed Police forces: >>The age limit is 20-25 years. Is engineering beneficial to me As an Engineering Graduate you are eligible to apply for CDS/IES/Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC every year. CDS - Combined Defence Service conducted twice every year to join Indian Defence Services - The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Indian National having completed Graduation Degree in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 25 years with good physical and mental Fitness, can apply for CDS. IES - Indian Engineering Service - The eligible candidate must ean Indian National having completed B.Tech. Degree form a recognised University in any stream within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. Civil Service Exam to become IAS/IPS/IFS/ICS etc. - The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having completed Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate, can apply for Civil Service Exam. Is engineering beneficial to me The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities....SO YOU ARE ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND EXAM AFTER COMPLETION OF YOUR GRADUATION... you can try for job in INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES.... Candidates who have appeared at an examination which would educationally qualify them for the UPSC examination but have not received the the results will also be eligible for admission to the Preliminary Examination. They will have to produce the proof of passing the requisite examination with their application for the Main Examination. Candidates possessing professional and technical qualifications, recognised by Government as equivalent to professional and technical degree would also be eligible for admission to the examination. AGE ELIGIBILITY A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, in the year of examination. |

As per your question, I will answer them one by one.... 1. I will attach the whole eligibility criteria in word format. Download that.. 2. Educational Qualifications : For I.M.A. and Officers Training Academy- Degree of a recognised University or equivalent. For Naval Academy : B.Sc. (with Physics & Mathematics) or Bachelor of Engineering. For Air Force Academy : Degree of Recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering. As mentioned above both Degree and engineering have same value. So you will not get any benifit for engineering..... |
