NDA - National Defence Academy, the entrance exam for which is conducted by UPSC twice every year to join Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.

The eligible candidate being an unmarried Indian Male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical and Mental Health, can apply for NDA.

There is a prescribed minimum Physical requirement for candidates applying for different wings of NDA, a file attached herewith for ready reference:-

Dear friend NDA stands for National Defence Academy.

NDA exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice time in a year for three wings.

- Army wings

- Navy wings

- Air force Wings


Height for NDA Exam:-

- Army Wings - 157.5 cms

- Air Force - 162.5 cms

- Naval Academy - 157 cms


Eligibility criteria for NDA Examination :-

Candidate should be an Indian citizen.

Candidate must have completed 10+2 exam of a recognized School or Board and studying in the final year of 12th examination may also eligible to apply for Army wings.

For Navy / Air force wings:-

Candidate must have completed 10+2 with PCM subjects from a recognized board.

There is no minimum marks required for NDA Examination .

Age limit:-

Age should be between 16.5 years to 19 years.

There is No age relaxation for reserved categories in this exam.

Only unmarried Male candidate are eligible to apply this exam.

Dear There,

NDA is National Defense Academy. It is conducted twice in a year as NDA I & NDA II in the months of April & August. The Union Public Service Commission is the responsible body to conduct NDA examinations to recruit candidates as officers in Indian Defense. There are some eligibility criteria which is needed to be fulfilled by the candidates who want to apply for the NDA examinations.

The eligibility criteria candidates must fulfill are:

* Pursuing 12th in final year or Passed 12th from a recognized board.

* Candidates who wish to join Indian Army can apply for the examination with any stream in 12th but for Indian Air force and Navy, candidates must have PCM as compulsory subjects in 12th.

* Sex - Male (Only male candidates are eligible to apply)

* Age - 16.5 to 19 years.

* Citizenship - Indian or A subject of Nepal / Bhutan.

* Marital Status - Unmarried candidates only.

Physical standards are also needed to be considered for eligibility:



Candidates must be clinically fit for examination.

Physical Standard for NDA Examination





Eligibility Criteria

The candidate should:

>> Have a XII Class / Equivalent passed certificate conducted by State Board / Universities. Those appearing for the exam can also apply provided they furnish the proof of passing the Class XII exam at a later date as specified by the UPSC.

>> Have Physics & Maths in 10+2 if he has applied for Navy & Air Force.

>> Be an unmarried male.

>> Be between 16 1/2 to 19 years of age.

>> Be physically fit.

Exam Pattern

The written test has 2 papers both of which will last for 150 minutes each:

Mathematics: Topics to be covered include Arithmetic, Mensuration, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics

General Ability: This paper includes English & GK. Questions from Physics, Chemistry, General Science, History & Freedom Movement, Geography and Current affairs will be asked in the GK section.

Height Standard for NDA exam;-

Physical Standards :-

-Minimum Acceptable height is 157.5 cms(162.5 cms for Air force).

-The Chest should be well developed,fully expanded chest should not be less than 81 cms.

-Better eye is 6/6 and worst eye is 6/9 with or without glass

>> Running 2.4 km in 15 minute

>> Skipping

>> Pushups and sit ups (minimum 20 each)

>> Chin ups (minimum 08)

>> Rope climbing - 3-4 meters.

Height Requirement for NDA Exam:



So if your weight and height are according to above table then surely you will not have problem in medical test of NDA.

But you have to fulfill other points also when you are appearing for Medical test in NDA examination.

Any of the following conditions can create obstacles in your selection for NDA:

-Knock Knee

-Flat Foot

-Color Blindness

-Weak Eyesight

-Any disease that can hamper your service in Indian Defense.

When you are attending the medical test please get your ears cleaned because it is also checked during medical test.

NDA stands for National Defence Academy. This exam conducted by the UPSC twice in a year i.e NDA-I and NDA-II.

Three wings in NDA:-

Indian army,

Indian airforce,

Indian navy.


Eligibility criteria:-

Applicant should be complete 12th standard from any recognised board or university.

Percentage is not an issue to apply this exam.

Applicant must be physically fit.

The age limits are 16.5 years to 19 years, no upper age relaxation.

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible i.e girls are not eligible.

12th standard exams appearing candidates can also be eligible.

Physical Requirements for NDA

Army wings :- Acceptable height is 157.5 cms .

Navy wings :- Acceptable height is 157 cms .

Air force :- Acceptable height is 162.5 cms .

Check out the chart list wise height / weight requirements :-

Chest should be well developed. Fully expanded chest should not be less than 81 cms. The minimum range of expansion after full inspiration should be 5 cms.

Additional Requirements :-

Running : 2 to 4 Km. in 15 minutes
Skipping

Other eligibilty for the NDA exams are:
