Re: What is the percentage required to attempt banking entrance exam?

Banking exams are conducted for two posts in the banks. First is Clerk and second is PO. The requirement for the percentage depends on whether you are applying for the Clerical or Bank PO entrance exam.

Institute of Banking Personnel Services conduct both these entrance exams for 20 Public sector banks. Clearing the exam would mean government job. Therefore I will recommend you to apply for the IBPS entrance exams.

IBPS Clerical exam is conducted twice a year. First time in March while second time towards the end of the year. On the other hand Bank PO exam is only conducted once around June/July.

Since you are currently in final year, you will have to wait till completing the graduation course to apply for the exams. Here are the requirements for both the exams.

IBPS Clerical/Bank PO Eligibility Criteria

1. Only Indian national can apply.

2. Qualification requirement is Bachelor's degree.

3. 60 percent marks needed to appear for Bank PO.

4. There is 5 percent relaxation for SC/ST.

5. But there is no relaxation for OBC.

6. For Clerical exam there is no marks criteria.

7. You should have diploma/degree in Computers.

8. Computer Science/IT subject in 12th or graduation will also be accepted.

9. Age limit for both exams is 20 to 28 years.

10. You will have 3 years extension in upper age limit if belongs to OBC.

11. SC and ST will get 5 years extension.

12. While 10 years if the person is physically disabled
