Re: Minimum and maximum salaries in ECE?

Dear Friend

It is not possible to tell you the accurate minimum and maximum salaries for Electronics and Communication engineer. It would be totally wrong to guess or predict minimum and maximum salary.

The salary of an individual depends upon lots of factors:

>>First of all your academic performance that is result right from class tenth to bachelor's degree.

>>Your level of knowledge and the experience in the particular field.Your interpersonal skills and communication skills ,personality etc.

>>The institute from which you pursued your bachelor's degree.

>>The status of firm in which you will work .

>>Locality and the nature of economy of your country.

and some more.

I am explaining you by an illustration:

The salary of a fresher of this stream is about Rs 20000 per month if from any private college ,it may be around 50000 for an IITian and even more .

If you start working in governmental organisation it may be around 30000-45000 rupees with other allowances like in the PSUs.

The salary can even increase to 2-3 lacs per month but it totally depends upon your experience and all above mentioned factors.

In simple words the salary is directly proportional to your level of knowledge and skills and capability in different areas of industrial activity.

You must be aware of the present situation and cannot expect to get salary in lacs being a fresher.

Hope you understand.

all the best

Dear,

Salary does not depends on your branch of engineering but it depends on the type of job and the place where you do that job. In small cities you will get less money for the same job for which you will get good money in big cities. Also it depens on which company you are working in and your job profile.

Students after completing their engineering from ECE go for following jobs:
  1. As graduate trainee engineer's in PSUs.
  2. As core engineers in private companies.
  3. As software engineers in IT companies.
  4. As technical support engineers in BPO.
  5. As call representatives in BPO.

Salary dereases with each job described above i.e. in any PSU you will not get less than 6lac per year. Similarily in a good private company you can earn max 6lac and min 3 lac per year.

In BPO as technical support you can earn max 2-3 lac per year and as a call representative you can earn 1.5- 2 lac per year.

You should try hard for campus placement as it comes with good offers for final year students and you can also go for PSUs but since its hard so try for PSU when you have an offer in your hand from any company.

Now it depends on your capability, your college and the city where you want to work what kind of job you will get and thus the salary. If you will do hard work and improve your skills you can earn even 10 lac per year after some experience. Don't think you can get a job of 10-20 lac per year just after completing your B.tech. Its not possible in India. So be practical and improve your capability.

Best of luck!
