Eligibility conditions which you will required to meet to apply for UPSC IES Exam are :

Educational qualification :

If you have a 4 Years Bachelor degree of Engineering in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Civil then you can apply for UPSC IES Exam.
If you have Post Graduate Engineering degree in Wireless Technology/Radio Technology then you can apply for UPSC IES Exam.

Age Required :

Your minimum age should be 21 years.
Your age should not be above 30 years.

UPSC IES Exam will conducted in two phases.These are :

Part I - Written Exam - Objective Paper + Conventional Paper.
Part II - Personality Test (After Passing Part I Exam).

Books which you can Referred are :

General Paper :- Reasoning and General Awareness .

Reasoning by R.S.Agarwal of Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning.
General Awareness - Pratiyogitra Darpan (A Monthly Competitive Magazine).

Engineering paper : Part A and Part B . This section will include questions from your Engineering Background thus it will be better that you should prefer your text Books of your Engineering Branch.
