Re: How much percentage is needed in B.Tech EEE to get a Government Job? Though the marks vary in different public sector but in general for applying in public sector job you should have above 60% in your graduation. There is a 5% marks relaxation for SC/ST candidate. Best of luck.. |

Generally at least 60% in BE/B.tech is required . The eligibility criteria for Govt. jobs - 1.Age limit =21 to 30 years .(5years relaxation for sc/st and 3 years relaxation for obc) 2.Candidate should be a citizen of India . 3.Graduation from a recognized university. Re: How much percentage is needed in B.Tech EEE to get a Government Job? Dear pal, with bachelor degree in engineering one can apply for the various government services namely ias, ips and ies, . IES is explicitically for engineers and it is held under four discipline namely civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical and instrumentation engineering, electrical engineering. For applying for the exam the aspirants need a minimum marks of about 50% . There is restriction in age for applying for the exam. For the government service the minimum age is 21. The maximum age is 30 and relaxation is as per the government norms. The minimum percentage of marks required for applying for various private may vary but with first class i.e 70% one is eligible to appear for job opportunities in all the companies. The aspirant can write GATE exam with which one is eligible to appear for the public sector companies too. The gate score is valid for two years. The selection procedure involves segregation of aspirants based on the gate score followed by group discussion and personnel interview. |

Some of them have strict eligibility as they don'y have any backlogs. So if you have fulfill these criteria they apply for the govt. jobs. all the best |

Re: How much percentage is needed in B.Tech EEE to get a Government Job? dear friend, After completion of your B.tech in EEE stream you want to go for govt. jobs, then you have to fulfill some eligibility criteria first.. Eligibility criteria for govt. jobs:- 1.The candidate must have complete the graduation in a respective field.. 2.The candidate should have 60% aggregate through out the career. 3.The candidate should not have any pending backlogs. 4.The candidate should be a citizen of India. Age eligibility:- 1.The age should be in between 21-30 years. There is some upper age relaxation for SC/ST and OBC category students. SC/ST- 5 years upper age relaxation and OBC - 3 years upper age relaxation. These are the criteria you have to fulfill.. So, complete your B.tech course with a good percentage of marks, then you will not face any problem.. All the best.. |

Apart from obtaining 60% marks deep knowledge of the syllabus is must. So you should have the command on the syllabus. Let it be government job or private job deep knowledge and dedication towards job is needed. All the best. |

In case you fall in the SC /ST category then you are given a relaxation of about 10 % in rare cases and generally it is 55% . So dont think that securing only the basic requirement is enough. Study hard and get a good score above 70 % so that you gain a competitive advantage over the others. All the best. |

PSU i.e Public Sector Undertaking . These sectors which consists of ONGC, BHEL, etc Every year recruits 2000 students for the very reputed jobs in different Fields. Re: How much percentage is needed in B.Tech EEE to get a Government Job? if you have minimum of 60% marks then you will be able to apply most of the government jobs as well as public sector jobs. in various government jobs there are no marks criterion and in some jobs there are minimum marks criterion of 60%. it is better to have all through minimum of 60% marks. this is the eligibility criterion. marks is not sufficient to get a government or private sector job. obviously you should have the eligibility marks but after that knowledge is needed to get the job. so just try to get the government job by appearing in the process it is not sure that you will get the job if you have good marks. best of luck. |
