Re: Which books to prepare for GATE & IAS Exams?

dear friend ,
I think you don't have a clear idea about these exams

These exams are different in all respects.
GATE is an entrance exam for doing M.tech after B.tech
where as IAS is a civil service which is admitted through Civil Service Examination.

For GATE examination you must have to tell about your stream then anyone can suggest you books .
But you can follow books of GK publishers

all the best

Re: Which books to prepare for GATE & IAS Exams?

GATE : Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering

IAS : Indian Administrative Service

GATE & IAS are the both two different paths . I think you have idea about GATE which is a entrance examination or simply can be called as a gateway to the higher studies after completing your b.tech

whereas IAS is a civil service which is a high end government job this job can be obtained by clearing a entrance examination procedure called civil service examination.

This civil service examination is conducted by UPSC which is a govt body.

So i guess now you got basic difference about GATE and IAS
As i told you they are both different the syllabus for gate will have all the technical subjects

where as the syllabus for IAS entrance examination will consist of all the General subjects.

So in the same way the books for these will be very different. for GATE all the subjects will be of your engineering trade.

For CSE all the books will be of different streams upon your choice

if you want the books list then you need to mention which optional you have selected in your IAS mains examination. Next time when you pose question relating this please provide necessary details so that we can help you easily.
