Re: How much rank is needed to get seat in IIT for M.Tech? GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. Candidates who want to get admission for Post Graduation in Engineering or M.Tech course will apply for this Exam. One should have completed Graduation in Engineering with any of the stream in order to apply for this Exam. Candidates who are pursuing final year of Engineering course also can apply for this Exam. GATE score card is valid for a period of 2 years in the sense if you have appeared for GATE Exam in 2 consecutive years, you can use the GATE score whichever you want in order to get admission for M.Tech course. IIT stands for Indian Institute of Technology. IITs are the prestigious institutions for several courses and candidates will gain good subject knowledge after completion of any of the course in IITs. I have seen number of candidates who have received top salaries in MNCs soon after the completion of their M.Tech course from IITs. In order to get admission for M.Tech course in IITs, one should secure a rank between 500-1000. However this will be varied from one stream to another stream. Have strong preparation for this Exam and crack it. Wish you all the best. |

Well dear you have not given any details about your branch or any category.in general i am telling you that to get admission in iit you should need rank near about under 600.it might different for different category and different branches.best of luck |
