As you are asking for the companies which hire on the gate basis having 58.75% in Btech.. To be very frank you score not a good percentage in Btech.. Nowadays any PSU which consider the gate score as the requirement criteria, they also mention a minimum graduation percentage of 60%... So its a very tough task for getting into PSU's with this percentage in Btech.. From my opinion you have to: -go to banking sector jobs such as bank PO, clerk etc -or you can start your career in private firm and then increase your capabilites and skills which help you lot.. -or you can firstly go for any intership in any reputed company before going into a big company.. If you belong to SC or ST category then you have cleared the qualifying cut marks in GATE. But, 20 marks is not sufficient to get admission into any good institute for admission into any M.Tech. You can take admission in M.tech and score very well. Having good marks in M.tech company may consider you for placement and major emphasis on your Post graduation degree and marks as it is the highest degree you would be having. Another area you can go for is MBA, since MBA and graduation ( most of the graduation) doesn't have anything in common, you can say to interviewer that you were not good at technical so switched to management. all the best |

First of all having percentage less than 60. Very difficult to get job specially in B tech. Though you write GATE exam and get very good rank then also you are not eligible to apply for any public service units or Govt. Jobs because 60% marks is minimum any how. Private companies also asking for minimum 60%. presently its increased to 65% in most companies and even more. So I think with 58 percent marks you cannot get job as an engineer but you can try looking for other jobs like Banks, BPO's , call centres, Smalls companies even core may hire you. now its irrelevant to ask for companies who want GATE score thats why am not specifying. For applying jobs, Yes!! you have to fill forms for specific companies by visiting them or online if available. try job fairs or look for notifications for vacancies related to your field. I am a final year BTech student from NITK Surathkal in Chem Engineering with a score pointer @ 8.2 to 8.5 on 10. I have a Gate rank of 399 in CH. I missed the IOC Advt for recruitement 2012. I would like to know the Gate cut off at these companies and othe Public sector companies which closed their application dates and those companies that would open up shortly for Chemical engineers and what would be their cut off GATE scores. Also let me know why there is no IES eligibility for Chemical engineers? |

Minimum GATE score required? hello dear see, if you will have gate score then it will be a very good option for you. though you have a poor marks in btech. as you know maximum company want minimum 60% marks in btech. so, it will be better for you to do Mtech. all the best.............. |

Minimum GATE score required? you have scored very less marks in your B.Tech career.and company requirement are atleast 65% or 60% through out career. but in PSU some company like HAL,ONGC,NTPC,IOCL,BHEL requirs 65% aggregate marks. and IFFCO,NFL requirs only 60%. there are many company which recruits student through GATE score card.they do not take any written exam. after selection in GATE exam they call directly for GD,PI. IOCL company are recruits this year through GATE. |
