This Exam is being conducted once in a year by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) to recruit the candidates into following Engineering Services Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Electrical and Telecommunication Engineering Here is the eligibility criteria required to apply for this Exam. Academic Qualification : One should have completed Graduation in Engineering with any of the stream from a recognized university. No minimum percentage of marks are required for the candidates in Graduation to apply for this Exam. Age criteria : The candidates of General category should be in the age group of 21-30 years. Relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category. Relaxation in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC or ST category. For the candidates with physical disabilities, relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 10 years. If you are at the age of 20 years, I am sorry you can not take this exam. But as per your date of birth, you have completed 21 years of age. Hence now you are eligible to apply for IES Exam. Have good preparation for the written exam and crack it. The Indian Engineering services (IES) Exam is conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The Minimum Age that you should have for IES Exam is 21 years. So , you cannot appear in this exam as currently you are ineligible for the same. The Minimum educational qualification required for IES Exam is you must have completed B.E. / B.Tech in any one of the following streams : 1) Civil Engineering 2) Mechanical Engineering 3) Electronics & Electrical Engineering 4) Electronics & Communication Engineering The IES Examination is conducted as per the below mentioned pattern :   This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. IES conducted by upsc every year, For applying IES your age limit must be between 21 to 30 years. Civil Engineering Mechanical Engg. Electrical Engg. Electronics and Tele communication Engg. So, you are not eligible for IES. You can write civil services. Eligibility criteria for civil services like IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS etc:: You should have a degree, it can be any degree be it 3 year or 4years like yours (BTech) You must be a citizen of India. Age limits: You must have attained 21 years and not be over 30 years on August 1 of the year of examination. The upper age limit is relaxed in specific cases as mentioned below: upto a maximum of 5 years if the candidate belongs to SC/ST. upto a maximum of 3 years if the candidate belongs to Other Backward Classes(BC's) You must complete your Graduation Degree(No restriction in Min.Percent) Number of attempts:: - General candidates: four attempts. - Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates: No restriction. - Other Backward Classes: seven attempts. 1.Civil Service Aptitude Test(CSAT) 2.Main Exams 3.Interview |

Re: Am I eligible for IES entrance exam at an age of 20?  Hai, Sorry to say this you are not eligible for IES exam, because you are at the age of 20 years but for IES exam minimum age is 21 years. Eligibility criteria: -->The candidate should be complete graduation from a recognised university in any one of the following stream Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, Electronics and telecommunication engineering. Candidate should be a citizen of india. Final year candidates are also eligible. Age criteria: Candidates age should be in between 21 years to 30 years, 3 years age relaxation for OBC candidates, 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST candidates. Selection procedure: Preliminary exam, Main exam, Interview. IES - INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE conducted by UPSC once every year for recruitment of Engineers in the top technical post in Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/Electronics & Telecommunication Dept. under Central Govt. The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final B.Tech. Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. The selection is through written exam based on the subject from Electrical/Civil/Mechanical/Electronic & Telecommunication stream followed by personal interview. (Upper age limit relax able for SCs/Sts, OBCs and certain other categories). Educational Qualifications : A degree in Engineering from a recognised university or equivalent. M.Sc degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subjects also acceptable for certain Services/posts only. Candidates appearing at their engineering degree or equivalent examination are also eligible to compete. Candidates qualifying on the result of the written part of the Examination will be required to submit the proof of passing the requisite examination along with their detailed application form to be filled up at that stage. ~regards~ priyo |

BE/BTech in EC/EE/MECHANICAL/CIVIL branches from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India. 2. Age limit: Minimum age-21 years & Maximum age:30 years. 3. Citizen of India. 4. Max no. of attempts allowed is 4. Structure of exam: It contains 5 papers (3 objective papers of 2 hours duration each + 2 descriptive papers of 3 hours duration each), out of which one objective paper with General Studies, 2more objective papers with Engineering and 2 descriptive papers with Engineering. a. First day: General Studies + General English complete objective paper, for 200 marks b. Second day: Paper I for 200 marks and Paper II for 200 marks of Objective type technical. c. Third day: Paper I for 200 marks and Paper II for 200 marks of Descriptive type. d. Personal Interview round contains another 200 marks. e.
