Re: Do IITs offer courses in Humanities for Undergraduation? Respected snehamay ganguly, IIt madras conduct hsee entrancefor humanitie, 5 year integrated MA in english and development studies every year in April 3 rd week for 42 seats(21 for MA development and 21 for english), which is highly competitive. After completion of 10 2 in commerce, arts or science students are eligible. The remaining IITs also have humanities departments they offer courses after Bachelors degree. The humanities department of IIT madras started somewhere in 1956. Hence all IITs offer humanities degrees. Due to less number of seats, the admission is individual for each iit is different many students do not know. So, without knowing please do not tell that IITs do not offer humanities for under graduation. IIT madras offer undergraduate course in MA development studies/English. Remaining IITs along with IIT madras offer PG degree in humanities. |

IIT is a technical institute , which only offer courses on B.tech field.. So, my friend if you want to pursue your undergraduation in technical field then you can go for IIT's.. Otherwise don't need to go for IIT's.. All the best.. |

Re: Do IITs offer courses in Humanities for Undergraduation? IIT : Indian Institute of Technology. IITs do not offer any undergraduate course in Humanities. The department of Humanities in IITs offers Ph.D. and M.Phil. courses only. There use to be some compulsory optional courses of Humanities in B.Tech. curriculum but there is no separate undergraduate course offered specifically by the Humanities department in IITs. |
