Re: How to appear for IAS exam? I am a nursing student

Hope you are pursuing your Nursing at Graduation level. You will be eligible to apply for IAS Exam as and when you complete your Graduation.

Here is the eligibility criteria required for a candidate to apply for IAS Exam.

One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.

Candidates who have appeared for final year exams of Graduation and waiting for the results can also apply for this Exam.

There is no percentage of marks criteria required for the candidates in Graduation in order to be eligible for this Exam.

Required age will be as follows
21-30 years of age for General category.
21-33 years of age for OBC category.
21-35 years of age for SC or ST category.

The candidate should be a citizen of India.

There is limit on the number of attempts.

For General category : Maximum of 4 times
For OBC category : Maximum of 7 times
For SC or ST category : No limit on number of attempts.

So, I suggest you to start preparation for this Exam now itself so that you will be able to finish your preparation for this Exam by the time you complete your Nursing course.

Better to opt for any of the following subjects as Optional subject for Civil Services Exam
Botany
Zoology
Chemistry

Wish you all the best.

IAS stands for (Indian Administrative Service) and this Entrance Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission.

Graduation Qualification is necessary to apply IAS Entrance Examination. Along with this, the age limit of the candidate should be Minimum 21 years to 30 years for general candidates.

Final year candidate may also eligible to apply for this Entrance Examination and Upper age relaxation will be applicable for sc/st candidates and obc candidates. No Minimum Marks required for this Entrance Examination.

The IAS Selection procedure for this Entrance Examination is divided into,Preliminary Entrance Exam/Main Exam/Personal Interview. As per your educational qualification you're eligible to apply for IAS Entrance Examination.
