Dear Aspirant, There are many similarities than the differences so they are only differed in the naming. With some small changes and rest all are same. BE- Bachelor of Engineering BTech- Bachelor of Technology So only the naming is differed. The course duration and the semesters all are same. They both are for 4 years. Only difference can be seen in the labs and the theory of the study. The education is same but learned in a different way. Btech students are more used to labs and the BE students are more used to the theory rather than the practicals. If Compared btech and Be are almost same. There will be no discrimination when the recruitment takes place. Both will be called for the same post if vaccany are present. So both are same in terms of education,Except the name. Hope this info helps you. ![]() All the best for your future endeavor's. Any more Queries. Don't Hesitate to ask me. Am happy to help you always. Just ping to my profile. Best Regards, Sampath. |

Re: What is the main difference between a BTech. and a BE? hi main difference between a BTech. and a BE Difference between engineering and engineering technology is as shown below; Engineering includes RESEARCH, COMPLEX ANALYSIS,COMPLEX DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT,MANUFACTURING, AND TEST AND EVALUATION. It is more theoretical.Where as Engineering Technology includes Test and EVALUATION, ROUTINE DESIGNS,PRODUCTION,CONSTRUCTION,OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE, SALES AND DISTRIBUTION. IT IS MORE TANGIBLE. The difference lies in the courses taken to receive these degrees B.Tech stands for Bachelor of Technology B.E stands for Bachelor of Engineering In general, B.E degree is offered by OU (Osmania university) B.Tech degree is offered by JNTU (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University). B.Tech is more of practical based program and B.E emphasizes on theoretical details. good luck |

In the earlier days Universities providing Engineering courses along with other degree courses named the course as B.E and colleges providing only Engineering courses are termed as B.tech. That's the only difference i.e different universities name the course by different names but both the courses have equivalent value. all the best |
