Hi dear............
Eligibility criteria for IAS exam:

Age Limit

A general category candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August 2012

(upper age limit relaxable for SCs, STs, OBCs and certain other categories as specified in UPSC Notification).


Number of attempts permitted

For General Category - 4

For OBC - 7

For SC & ST - No Limit


Educational Qualification

The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

How to prepare for UPSC CSAT 2012?

Since the CSAT score does not carry forward to the Main exams, preparation should be in such a way that it should help pass the CSAT as well as the general studies papers of the main exams. Here is the recommended booklist/study material ofr CSAT 2012

It is good to see that you are Interested to become IAS officer in future, But to become IAS Officer is not a easy procedure, lots of candidates appeared for this examination every year and you need 2-3 years practice to cracked this examination, You can not cracked this examination in a single attempt.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services, to become IAS officer, you have to cracked the UPSC Civil services examination, This examination is conducted by UPSC Every year in 2 stages,

-->> Preliminary
-->> Mains

Firstly, you have to cracked the preliminary examination only then you are eligible for mains. Preliminary examination is totally objective and there are 2 papers in this examination.

Main examination is descriptive, and exam consist nine descriptive papers, You have to select two optional subjects for four papers. You have to choose two optional subject according to your interest.

How to apply:

You have to apply for this examination online only, It means that you have to fill the application form online only.

No offline application form facility is applicable for any candidates.

Notification published in February every year and eligible candidates may fill the application form online only.

When the notification published it is updated in the official website of UPSC or in the employment newspapers.

Eligibility:

-> You have to complete your Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University.
-> Age should between 21 to 30 years for general candidates. Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates.
-> Final year appearing candidates are also eligible to apply for this examination.
