You can not take admission in the second year of diploma after completing 12th. You will have to complete the entire 3 years diploma course. There is no other option. However since you have completed 12th, instead of diploma you should go for graduation degree. I will strongly recommed doing Bachelor of Technology instead of diploma course. The duration of B.Tech is 4 years while the duration of diploma course is 3 years. The advantage of doing degree would be better jobs that you won't get with just diploma course. Diploma course is recommended after completing 10th not 12th. After completing diploma after 10th you can take lateral entry admission in the second year of B.Tech course. Although it is also possible to do after 12th. But what is the point of doing both the courses now when you are directly apply for the B.Tech course. Therefore I will recommend you to apply for the Bachelor of Technology. There are several entrance exams to get admission. Apart from the state level entrance exam you should also appear for the ISEET entrance exam. This exam has recently replaced IIT-JEE and AIEEE. Therefore top government colleges offer admission through ISEET. ISEET Eligibility 1. Candidate has to first complete 12th. 2. PCM should be the subjects. 3. 40 percent or more marks in the 12th. |

If you want to do Diploma after 12th then you have to start from 1st year and you will not get any lateral entry into 2nd year of Diploma course. The lateral entry is only for Diploma holders who want to get admission into B.Tech. course. Also if you are 12th pass with PCM then you must aim for B.Tech. because doing diploma will only waste your 2 years. Nowadays a higher qualification is better. So you must try for B.Tech. through JEE. Diploma is for 10th pass students and if your aim was Diploma then you should have opted it after passing 10th. Doing diploma after 10th is very good because it will save your time and you will become job ready at a young age. So in my opinion you should go for B.Tech. and should start preparing for JEE because getting a top college very essential if you are opting for B.Tech. |

There are many college in India which provide the diploma course. To admission in the diploma course you need to appear in the entrance examination conducted by many government and private college. If you completed 12th class then i advise you to appear in the entrance examination for the admission in the diploma course. So, don't worry you are eligible to take admission in the direct 2nd year of the diploma course. you must need to qualify in the entrance examination. Do prepare well for the entrance examination. After completing the diploma course you can also take admission in the direct 2nd year of the B.Tech course. Wish you All the Best.
