The minimum eligibility for Income Tax Officer is a candidate must complete his graduation in any degree under recognized university. the age limits are as below: general category:21-30 years OBC category:21-33 years SC/ST category:21-35 years One have to appear for UPSC exam to become an income tax officer which is considered as Grade -A gazetted officer. |

Dear Friend , The qualifications required to Become an Income Tax Officer are mentioned below in steps for your sake of Convenience : * You must have completed your graduation from any recognized college / university. * Your age should lie in between 18-27 years. There is also a relaxation in upper age of 3 years for OBC Candidates and SC/ST candidates. * The minimum height required is 157.5 cms. * The minimum chest required is 81 cms. Also , you can expand your chest minimum to 5 cms. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want. |

Qualification required for Income Tax Officer : Age: A candidate must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years on the first July of the year of examination. The upper age limit is relaxable in respect of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes Other Backward Classes, Departmental candidates and such other categories of persons as may be decided from time to time. Educational Qualifications: A candidate must hold degree of a recognized University, or equivalent. Physical Standards: For the posts of Inspector of Central Excise and Preventive Officer, candidates will have to satisfy the following minimum physical standards, failing which they will not be eligible for appointment. Inspector of Central Excise/Preventive Officer (Male candidates) (i) Physical Standards (Minimum) Height 157.5 cms Chest 81 cms (fully expanded with a minimum expansion of 5 cms Relaxable by 5 cms in the case of Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas, Kumaon Region, Nagaland Tribes and members of ST (ii) Physical Test: Walking :1600 metres in 15 minutes Cycling :8 Km in 30 minutes Inspector of Central Excise/Preventive Officer (Lady Candidates) (i) Physical Standard: Height 152 cms Weight 48 Kg Height relaxable by 2.5 cm and weight by 2 kg for Gorkhans, Garhwalis, Assamese, Kumaon 'region and Nagaland Tribes and members of ST (ii) Physical Test: Walking :1 km in 20 minutes Cycling :3 km in 20 minutes |

The notification for civil services examination-2011 will be published on 19th February 2011 in all national dailies and Employment News. Re: Qualification required for Income Tax Officer? Hi, The Staff Service Commission (SSC) conducts an entrance exam annually for the recruitment of candidates in the income tax department. A series of written, oral and physical tests will be carried out for the selection of the candidates. Those candidates who clear these tests will be called for an interview later. Who is eligible to apply? Candidates who are applying for the post of Income tax officer must appear for the SSC exam. The basic qualification required to apply for the SSC is a degree from a recognized University or its equal. The candidates must be atleast 18 years and not more than 27 years at the time of applying ( age relaxation is available for the candidates belonging to the backward classes). |
