A career in Indian Navy is so esteemed and honorable and most ambitious citizens have a dream to be a part of this powerful naval force. The president of our country takes the tribute of being the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy. The naval army extends maritime support for the other armed forces, by patrolling the borders of the coast during the critical war periods. Indian Navy is well known for its meticulous work in all disaster relieves and top operations such as Kargil war and Operation Enduring Freedom. We have also extended our hands to join the naval team of United States and other countries.

Eligibility criteria

The first basic and essential eligibility to be a part of the Indian Navy is to be an Indian citizen. Candidate should be within the age limit of 16 to 22 years of age, for all the cadres in the Indian Navy. They are expected to be strong and healthy, both mentally and physically. The height and weight statistics vary for men and women, and they should match their requirements, respectively. Pregnant women or women who have undergone uterus removal surgery cannot become a member of Indian Navy. Candidates will also have to undergo vision test, to check their level of eye sight. Powerful eyes are given first preference.

He/she is expected to have passed at least 10+2 standard of educational qualification with physics and mathematics background, to join the lower grade post in the Indian Navy. These intermediate positions can be applied only by male candidates. Candidates with graduation, engineering and post graduation can also apply for different ranks of posts under the Indian Navy.

Candidates who have completed their graduation have a wider scope in the Indian Navy and they can apply for different positions including flying branch and ground staff branches. Such candidates have to appear in the Combined Defense Services Examination and clear the writing test, to be a part of the Indian navy team. Even this position requires male candidates only. They are also expected to be a single bachelor man.

For technical wing, the candidates are expected to have completed their engineering and B Tech with a minimum aggregate of 60%. Sound technical background could be an added advantage.
