You will eligible for the Indian naval academy (NA), As you are a student of mechanical engineering , you can apply in NA , through UES (UNIVERSITY ENTRY SCHEME ), in you final year of B.tech. At present you are not eligible ,as you are in 2nd year of your engineering. you can also , apply in INDIAN AIR FORCE(IAF) & INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY(IMA).. There is a examination, called CDS (COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICES EXAMINATION), conducted by UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (UPSC). The minimum educational requirements for this examination is a graduation degree,.. if you are a IAF OR NA aspirant, you must have Physics & maths in your graduation. Otherwise, you can only apply for the IMA or OTA (OFFICERS TRAINING ACADEMY). The age limit for this examination are- For IAF -19-23 For NA- 19-22 For IMA -19-24 For OTA- 19-25 YEARS.. There is not any kind of age limit relaxation is applicable for the any reserved category. Exam pattern-  Physical requirements-  You must be an Indian. You must be Unmarried. Re: Am I eligible for Indian Navy? I am doing mechanical engineering Yes, You are eligible for Indian Navy after B.Tech. Degree in Mechanical Engineering through cracking CDS Entrance examination. CDS - Combined Defence Service, the entrance exam for which is conducted by UPSC twice every year to join Indian Military Academy, naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer's Training Academy. The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Indian Male having either appear for for the final Graduation Degree exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/B.Tech. Degree exam or pass from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 22 years with good Physical and Mental Fitness. For more information you may log on to http://www.upsc.gov.in |
