No. Only boys can write the NDA exam for joining Indian army after 12th.
Girls can join army only after graduation. After the graduation, you can give CDS exam for joining the army.

If you clear the NDA/NA entrance test, you will be able to join Indian Navy.

Your age limit should be between 16.5-19 years. Let me tell you that only unmarried male can apply for this exam.

Physical and mental fitness is necessary.

The best gateway to enter Defense either it is Army or Air Force or Indian Navy is through the National Defense Academy entrance exam conducted twice every year by the Union Public Service Commission.

Eligibility criteria:

>>You must have passed your 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized board. For Indian Navy and Air force, you must studied Mathematics and Physics at the 10+2 level.English must be compulsory subjects.

So, you need to pursue your 10+2 with science stream involving subjects Mathematics, Physics and English as mandatory one.

>>Your age must be between 16.5 to 19 years.

>>You must be unmarried male Indian citizen. Girls are not allowed to appear for the NDA exam.

NDA entrance exam has two stages:

Written Test: It includes two papers. First one is of Mathematics and second paper is of general ability in which questions are from science, general knowledge and English.

After clearing this test, you will be called for the Service Selection Board which is of 5-6 days including Medical Fitness Test.

Finally , a merit list is prepared for all the successful candidates and depending upon your preference of defense wings, you will go for the training.

For any more details, you can visit official website of U.P.S.C that is www.upsc.gov.in.
