Re: Possibility to join PSUs after a gap of 1-2 years of B.Tech through GATE? Yes, you can join Public Sector Undertakings after one or two years of Bachelor's degree in technology through GATE exam. But you will have to score good marks in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. Top rankers are called for group discussion and personal interview for recruitment in PSUs like NTPC, BHEL, SAIL, ONGC etc. GATE is an online test of 100 marks conducted for 21 streams by Indian institute of Technology for master's degree in technology. It has become one of the important criteria for selection in many companies. It requires good concept and depth knowledge of your concerned stream to clear this exam. |

Dear Friend Rav7CR7, It's not right that only freshers can apply for the PSU Exam.Two or three year gap students can also apply for this.It means you can apply for this,but you will be eligible for this after qualifying in the GATE Exam. About GATE:GATE stands for Gaduate Apptitude test of Engineering.This Exam is conducted by the IIT's of India per year.The Score Card of GATE Exam is valid for three years.This rule is from 2015.So you have to score high to qualify in the PSU.After qualifying in Exam you have to clear the exam or Group Discussion conducted by them. About PSU's:- PSU stands for Public Sector Undertaking.Many companies like Bharat Heavt Electrical Limited(BHEL),Steel Authority of India Limited(SAIL),National Power Coal India Limited (NPCIL),National Thermal Power Corpaoration(NTPC) etc are recruit the candidates through GATE Exam. In the recent years lots of P.S.Us like BHEL,SAIL,GAIL,NPCIL,NTPC etc have started recruiting candidates on the basis of ranks secured by them in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering has become the criteria for getting short listed for recruitment process in the public sector undertakings. After short listing the candidates, they conduct : >>Group Discussion >>Personal Interview for final selection depending upon their number of vacancies. Yes, why not you can apply for the P.S.Us depending upon your GATE scorecard even after 1-2 years of B.Tech as there is no issues. For example the GATE scorecard of 2015 will remain valid for next three years. Appear for the GATE exam then apply for the PSU in which you are more interested. |

Possibility to join PSUs after a gap of 1-2 years of B.Tech through GATE? Hello, Do all PSUs recruit fresh B.Tech graduate only? I can give GATE after 1-2 years from B.Tech and then apply for PSU? Please reply as soon as possible. |
