Income Tax Officer exam is generally conducted by SSC (Staff Selection Commission) every year.

The criteria to apply for the exam are as under:-

-The candidate must have any degree from a recognized university.

-The candidate age limit to apply for the exam is from 18 years to 27 years.There is age relaxation for reserved category candidates i.e.,

For OBC- 3 years,

For SC/ST-5 years.

The selection exam for the post is held in three stages.

Stage 1: Written Objective type Examination (Tier 1)

A. General Intelligence + Reasoning - 50 marks
B. Gen.Awareness-50 marks
C. Quantitative Aptitude –50 marks
D. English Comprehension -50 marks
Total Marks - 200
Duration: 02 hours


Stage 2 : Written Objective type Examination (Tier 2)

I.Quantitative Abilities : 200 marks (100 Questions)
Duration: 2 hours
II.English Language & Comprehension: 200 marks.
Duration : 2 hours
Total Marks : 400


Stage 3: Personality test/Interview (100 Marks)


-The candidate can apply for the exam either online or offline.The application forms are available at the Official website of SSC.

Income Tax Officer Details---

Pay Scale-----

The salary pay scale may be depending on the location where the placement has to be done. Mainly it may be from Rs. 15,000 to 20,000.

Age Limitation-----

The age should be between 21 years to 30 years. But the rules change every year in the case of age limitation of the candidates. So the candidates are advised that you must check the notification.

Qualification-----

The graduation degree is required to apply for the post of tax assistant or Income tax officers with minimum of 60% marks. The relaxation in the academic qualification is also available for the reserved categories.

Exam Pattern-----

There are two phases of examination one is preliminary and second one is final examination. The successful candidates in preliminary examination will go the final examination. And successful candidates in the final examination will go to the interview session.

Notifications for Income Tax Officer ----

Now, this is the section where you can find the latest recruitment notification for your dream job of Income tax officer. But now Income Tax Department itself has issued recruitment notification various vacancies only for the sportsperson.


Name and Number of Vacancies----

Income Tax Inspectors: 5 Vacancies
Stenographers---1 Vacancy
Tax Assistants---26 Vacancies
Multi-Tasking Staff---9 Vacancies

How to apply-----

The candidates have to download the application form from the website www.incometaxindia.gov.in and fill all the required columns in the application form. Send application along with other required documents to the address of income tax department by 23rd Jan, 2013 (Last Date).

Selection Procedure-----

As it is the direct recruitment by Income tax department not through SSC. So there is no specification provided in the notification.

As you are interested for Income tax officer its a good decision for this you have to be very strong in your study other wise it is quite difficult to crack the examination whihc i organized for the respective post.

The eligibility :
The candidates should be a graduate in any disicpline from a recognized university.
The age limit is 21 - 30 years.
There is a age relaxation for reserved candidates.
The Candidates should be an Indian Citizen.

# Presently, you are in the first year of B.Com. At this stage, you will not be permitted to sit in the Tax Assistant Examination.

# You can apply only after two year. At that time, you will either in the final year or have completed degree.

# It is better to know the composition of the written examination is mentioned below:

* General Studies
* General Knowledge
* Current Affairs
* General English
* Mathematics
* Reasoning Ability

# You have to make special preparation strategy for each section of written test.

# You have to devote due time to each and every section daily. You have also devote some additional time to difficult subjects/topics/sections.

# Routine revision of studied matter play a major role in success. Revise what you have studied on daily basis, weekly basis and monthly basis.

# Try to solve out as many model/old questions as possible which subsequently enhance your self-confidence, make you famliar with latest trend, pattern and difficulty level.

# Body and brain should be perfectly healthy in order to have better preparation. Candidate must devote atleast 45-60 minutes daily for aerobic exercises or yoga or pranayam in this regard.

# Take nutritious & balanced diet especially Vitamin-C rich diet, almond and seasonal fruits.

# Performing Yoga & Pranayam helps in attaining better concentration level and memory power.
