IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service. IAS exam conducted by UPSC every year.

Candidate who want to apply must have a Graduation Degree from a recognized university.

Candidate age should be between 21 years to 30 years.There are 06 attempts for General candidate,09 attempts for OBC and unlimited attempts for SC/ST candidates.Candidate who want to apply must be Medically and Physically fit.

The Candidates are selected on the basis of Prelim exam and Mains exam.The Prelims Exam is always conducted in the month of May/June every year.

To become an IAS officer candidate height should be 160 cm for mens and 145 cm for womens.

Exam Date of IAS exam is 23 August 2015 and Official Notification date for IAS Exam is 16 May 2015.

The most important tips for the preparation for IAS exam :

Know your strengths and weaknesses towards the subjects.
First of all, you have to make time table and follow it routinely.
Make your own notes of the related topics . Notes helps you to solve two purposes. Firstly you can go through the syllabus and secondly it helps on the eve of examination.
You can take advise to your teachers for the selection of good books.
Solve the previous sample papers and question papers daily.
Practice makes the man perfect so practice more and more.
Read newspapers daily.
You should have to learn and speak English for interview.
Avoid the wastage of time on television, phones, video games etc.
Eat healthy food.
Exercise daily to increase your concentration power.
Don't loose your confidence.
Take a revision of your short notes daily.

U read daily newspapers of those languages in which you are preparing for ias,
i.e.english hindi,or u can write answers in your own language for mains.
Only thing is that u should be able to speak sufficient english for interview.
If u r starting from now it is better. U have lot of time for study.
Make a habit of making self notes,and try to refer those while u get free time.
