Re: Can I change my engineering stream while doing btech? Can anyone say that the after completing the diploma course on Electronics and Instrumentation department one can change their stream on Computer Science Engineering or Information Technology Engineering after appearing the JELET exam? |

Mechanical is a good stream indeed....it has great opportunity in this slowly upward market....but the main fact is that if you have lost interest in this then you should better leave it....because love in something is the most important factor that brings one into success and achievement.... you can go to other streams like Electrical Engineering,Civil Engineering,Microbiology, Computer science& Information Technology(if you are really interested going into the software world)..... but to do this there are different criteria in different colleges so that you can change your stream as you like... but the most important thing to do is you have to get brilliant marks throughout the 2 semesters of 1st year...better try to be topper..... so work hard...concentrate on your studies....you will definitely get chance... good luck.. |

Re: Can I change my engineering stream while doing btech? friend u have not mentioned ur year. if u are in your first yr of grad. then u may surely change the stream after the first yr is over. many colleges permit students to switch from one course to another during the first yr. but if u are in 2nd yr or above then it would be difficult for u because no college permits it. but still i would suggest u to look for your distaste in mech. because it's indeed a good stream and it may be possible than a single subject may be causing u the distraction. |

Re: Can I change my engineering stream while doing btech? yes you can change your stream you can change it either in 2nd semester or before 3rd semester ends . for that you have to score very well because lot of students apply for it and then college make their own merit list and based on that they give students branch of their choice you can also change your branch by migrating to different college under same universities . so one thing is sure you can change your branch only if you get very good marks |

Hi Karan, Its good that you have started to find things that you are interested in, but to change the field there is only two condition if you are in first year then by asking the principal and administrator you can request them to change your branch the next year or you need to be among the toppers to get the required branch or apply to other colleges. Check it out with your University or college. Also you can ask previous students for the same in the same university. |

Dear friend As you have not interest in Mechanical engineering then you can change your stream in 2nd year.For this , you have to secure more than 8 point in semester exam and after you have to contact with the management of the college.If you get permission of college authority to change stream then you can change your stream.Mind that after 2nd year you will not get chance for the change of stream. The mechanical branch is good at that time but if u have not interest in this branch then u can change ur branch after 1 year result if u get good marks in ur 1st year then u can change ur branch otherwise not.if u want to change ur branch then u should top.if u want to go in software technology then u go in computer science & information technology branch n many other branches are civil,electrical, electronics,chemical n etc |

Dear Friend, You may do so ,as you have already taken the subject then you can carry it but now as you are feeling uneasy,then you can change it. but there are some rules for changing stream 1:you must change the stream in between 1st sem or 1st year. 2:you should have minimum number to the corresponding college as per their rule. Re: Can I change my engineering stream while doing btech? dear friend, As u are saying that u lost ur interest in ur stream, and u don't want to continue ur Btech with this stream. there are some criteria for changing stream in Btech, for that u have to consult with ur institutes administrative, they will tell u the criteria.. as per as i know u can change ur stream after 1st year. for that u have to get good marks in ur stream. all the best. |

But if you don't have any interest in this branch then its good to leave it. Yes there is a provision of changing branch. You can change your branch after the declaration of your 1st year result. On the basis of percentage of marks you obtained in the first year the college management decide about change of branch according to merit list prepared by them. If the college have some seat left then you will get the branch you want. GOOD LUCK |

Re: Can I change my engineering stream while doing btech? you can only change before second year starts.....after completing your first year you can to the faculty advisory or to the admission officer to change the branch,you can change your stream but there are several condition for that first you can change it only when you are in the 1st year. second thing is that you will have to become top in your stream in the 1st year. |

So many criteria may be imposed by your college, just like you have to perform well in 1st year as well as your attendance must be up to the mark. Then there will be some possibility, first you should talk with your college authority & ask frequently about your problem. You can only change your stream before entering in 2nd year. good luck. |

Re: Can I change my engineering stream while doing btech? is ece or eee a better choice for girls???? there is no such BETTER choice for GIRLS.. it all depends on your interest to study the subjetc.. ECE is an indepth study of electronics and software.. and it gives a wider opportunity in terms of jobs and applications.. EEE is just a little brush up of Electricals and Electronics.. it only gives you an idea of both these subjects and not a very detailed course compared to ECE.. this is applicable for both boys and girls.. it is upto you which one you choose.. |
