So the next step would be to take up sciences in your 11th and pass out 10+2 with physics,chemistry and mathematics as your core subjects. Look up for various shipping institutes, like bharath shipping,V ships, Anglo eastern fleet online. You will be seeing notifications of admission. Apply and pass the interviews. Good luck. |

Re: Which subject should I take after passing 10th to join Indian Merchant Navy For joining Merchant Navy after passing 10th you will have to opt for the science stream with physics , chemistry and mathematics as your main subjects from a institute affiliated to recognized board . Then you will have to crack the National Defense Academy examinations for which the necessary qualifications are as given below :- * You must have the nationality of India . * You must be an unmarried male candidate . * Your age must be with 16.5 years to 19 years . * Your educational qualification must be as mentioned in the top couple of lines. * You must be physically and mentally fit as per the norms for service . The same examination is held by union public service commission twice every year generally in the month of April and September and are commonly known as NDA I & NDA II respectively . Also the examination is held in two stages which are written examination and Service selection board interview .You will qualify in the stage two only if you crack the stage one .
