NET stands for National Eligibility Test (NET),it conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)....

The dates for the 2009 exam is already over ,hope that you have submitted the application form,if not you can apply it this year on the same dates mentioned above.....

the details are as follows
the exam results were declared on 28th of june 2009.
Date of UGC NET examination: 27.06.2010

Date of UGC NET Notification : 28th March 2010

i) Last date for Applying On-Line 26-4-2010

Last date for receiving the form is 30.04.2010
The last date for submission of the Online application form at UGC-NET centres is 26.04.2010

let me bring it into your notice that the examination has already been conducted on 27th of december.but the exam takes place every year so dont worry because The University Grants Commission announces holding of the National Eligibility Test (NET) on 29th June, 2008 (Sunday) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship in Indian universities and colleges.

My friend the National Elegiblity Test consist of three papers and the candidates who qualify are eligible to persue research in the subject of their post graduation......

The University Grants Commission announces holding of the National Eligibility Test (NET) on 29th June, 2008 (Sunday) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship in Indian universities and colleges. UGC will conduct NET in 77 (seventy seven) subjects (listed under item no. 9) at 66 (sixty six) selected University Centres (listed under Item no. 10) spread across the country.

The candidates who qualify for the award of Junior Research Fellowship are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for Lectureship.

Important dates

It is notified that the next UGC-NET for Junior Research fellowship and eligibility for Lectureship will be held on 27th December, 2009 (Sunday) in Humanities, Social Sciences (including languages), Computer Science and Applications and Electronic Science etc.

The candidates who desire to appear in the test may see the detailed notification to be published in the employment news dated 24th October, 2009. The same is also available ton the UGC website www.ugc.ac.in.

The NET in Major Science Subjects, viz., Chemical Sciences; Earth Atmospheric Ocean & Planetary Sciences; Life Sciences; Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences is conducted jointly with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi.
Syllabi for all NET subjects can be downloaded from the UGC Website www.ugc.ac.in and are also available in the libraries of all Indian universities.

Hii Richardson,The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers have two separate sessions as under.
Paper-I will be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidates. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. Paper-II will consist of short questions based on the subject selected by the candidates. Paper-III will consist of only descriptive questions from the subject selected by the candidate.Visit these site for more details
