Hello friend

sorry to say there is no subject regarding your Branch

only electrical and Mechanical people have a subject relating to the Engineering in this exam..

so you have to select only the remaining subjects

as listed by other members

make a good selection..

Re: Subjects of Engineering (IT) found in IAS exam syllabus?

There are no subjects related to IT or any other Engineering branch in the preliminary examination of the Civil Services.

The subjects,syllabus,question paper pattern has been changed from the year 2011.The question paper now consists of 2 parts with 200 marks and 2 hours each with both the papers to be attempted compulsorily.

So from now on there will be no optional subjects for the second paper.Here am attaching you the syllabus part for the Civil Service Aptitude Test(CSAT) examination.Hence please go through it.

Dear Friend;

Greeting for the day;

As far as your question is concerned that in IAS syllabus there is any paper for IT Engineers.The Answer is "NO" in IAS New syllabus as well as old syllabus there is no any paper for IT Engineering but civil and mechanical is there but its not mean that you are not able to appear in IAS.My suggestion is you should try for IES(Indian Engineering service).

This is the revised syllabus of IAS 2011.

From Civil Service Examination 2011, Preliminary Examination would consist of two papers- Paper I and Paper II. The syllabus and pattern of the Preliminary Examination would be as under :

(Paper 1) (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs.

* Current events of national and international importance
* History of India and Indian national movement
* Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the world
* Indian Polity and governance – constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc.
* Economic and social development – sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc.
* General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change-that donot require subject specialization
* General science.

(Paper II) (200 marks) – Duration : Two hrs

* Comprehension
* Interpersonal skills including communication skills
* Logical reasoning and analytical ability
* Decision making and problem solving
* General mental ability
* Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. –Class X level)
* English language comprehension skills (Class X level)
* Questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level (last item in the Syllabus of Paper-II) will be tested through passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper.
* The questions will be of multiple choice, objective type.

All the best.
Thanks

Re: Subjects of Engineering (IT) found in IAS exam syllabus?

There is no subject in civil services examination related to Electronics and Communication engineering.

Also, the pattern of civil services examination has been changed from civil services 2011 examination.
It will be conducted in following two stages.
1. Civil Services Preliminary Exam or Civil Services Aptitude Test.
According to earlier pattern there was a GS paper and an optional paper in preliminary
exam but from this year there will be a common paper and there will be no optional
subject in the preliminary examination.
The syllabus and sample paper of preliminary examination have been attached with
this message.

2. Main Examination and Interview: Basically the pattern of Main examination is
same as earlier.
Those who qualify the Preliminary exam will be called for Main examination and on the
basis of performance in main exam candidates will be called for Interview.
The total marks obtained in Main exam and Interview will be added to prepare final merit list.
The Main examination will contain following papers
1. Essay type Indian Language Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
2. English Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
3. General Essay type paper (200 marks)
4. General Studies (Paper-I & II 300 marks each)
5. Optional subject-I(Paper-I & II 300 marks each)
6. Optional subject-II(Paper-I&II 300 marks each)

The subject for optional paper are as under.
You can choose any two of them. The choice is completely your.

Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science
Anthropology
Botany

Economics
Electrical Engineering
