# In order to become District Collector, you have to qualify the Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC every year.

# Civil Service Examination is highly competitive and toughest examination in India. Every year lakhs of candidates appeared in IAS/IPS Examination but only handful candidates are succeeded in examination.

# Candidates are required to possess any bachelor degree in any discipline from recognised university.

# Candidate must be within following age limit:

* 21-30 years for General category
* 21-33 years for OBC category
* 21-35 years for SC/ST category

# There is provision of number of attempts separately for each and every category which is as follows:

* Unlimited attempts for SC/ST category
* 07 attempts fixed for OBC category
* 04 attempts fixed for General category

# Examination pattern is as follows:

* Preliminary Examination (Civil Service Aptitude Test)
* Mains Examination
* Personal Interview by UPSC panel

To become a collector you have to qualify UPSC exam.

Candidate must have a graduation degree from a recognized university.

Candidate age should not less then 21 years or more then 30 years.

Candidate are selected on the results of Prelims exam,mains exam and Interview.

Some UPSC exams are ---
  1. Central Police Force Examination
  2. Civil Service Examination
  3. Combined Defence Service
  4. Combined Engineering Service etc.

One who wishes to become a District collector has to clear the Civil Services Exam conducted by the UPSC .UPSC conduct Civil Services exam every year in order to make recruitment for various posts like IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS etc.

The eligibility criteria required to appear in the Civil Services Exam are as under :-

- The candidate should be a citizen of India.

- The age limit to apply for the exam is from 21 years to 30 years for general category.There is relaxation in upper age limit by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

- The candidate must have passed graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university .The candidate appearing in the final year of the degree exam can also apply for the Civil Services Exam .

- The no. of attempts for the exam is 4 times for general category under the creamy layer,7 times for OBC candidates and no limits for SC/ST candidates.

The selection process involves of

* Preliminary Exam

* Main exam

* Personality Interview.

hello sir /madam
I am shailesh .I have completed 12th agriculture subject. I am from General category. I want to become district collector.which exam I have to clear? how many steps in hole task?
