One must requirement for students to join Navy and Air Force is - Students should have Mathematics and Physics subjects in their studies. However, no percentage criteria is there. Since you are a commerce student, you can not apply for Navy and Air Force. But you don't need to worry much. You can join Army. You are eligible to join Army. For this, there is NDA Exam that you have to attempt. After NDA Exam, there is an Interview that you need to clear. |

Re: Can a Commerce student be eligible to apply for Navy and Air Force? Yes, a commerce student can join Indian Air Force. I am a NCC senior division cadet of air wings. One of my senior officer who is from Indian Air Force (Ground Duty Branches) told me that student from any stream ( Commerce or arts ) can join Indian Air Force only Ground Duty Branches through NDA. My dear friend i think you are not eligible for indian air force with your commerce.Indian Air Force first you must tocrack the NDA Exam but, commerce students are noteligible for NDA examination who are appeared for NDA , those candidates are must have PCM subjects in 12th standard.. means Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics any one of the subject must have in 12th standard.Thank you |

Hi Friend.......... as per my knowledge you are not eligible for Indian air Force with your 12th commerce because, if you want to join into Indian Air Force first you must to crack the NDA Exam but, commerce students are not eligible for NDA examination who are appeared for NDA , those candidates are must have PCM subjects in 12th standard.. means Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics any one of the subject must have in 12th standard........ No,you are not eligible.Because you not have physics and maths in your 12th standard.which is the most essential criteria for apply. So, if you are very intersted in Defence services then you should completed you have to appear in AFCAT examination. AfCAT is the Air Force Common Admission Test. So,you have a graduation degree from a approved unversity with minimum 60% marks. Final year students are also eligible. Best of luck.... |

If you have completed your Intermediate examination with commerce then you are not eligible to Join Indian Navy and Air force through NDA examination. You can also not eligible to apply for the CDS Examination. You can only Join Ground duty branch of Indian Air force through Air force common Admission test. This examination is conducted by IAF every year and you have to scored minimum 60% marks in your graduation to apply for this examination. You can choose Logistic and Administration Branch or Accounts Branch of Indian Air force. If you have scored minimum 60% marks in your b.com then you can apply for the Accounts Branch of IAF. Your age should between 20 to 23 years to apply for AFCAT Examination. So, please complete your Graduation and then you can apply for AFCAT examination and for more details you can check UPSC website: http://upsc.gov.in |
