Re: Age limit for OBC candidate to attend UGC JRF NET 2016 NET examination is conducted by UGC. NET stands for National Eligibility Test and examination is conducted twice every year. The examination is conducted in month of June and December and the eligibility to appear for examination is candidate must have passed master degree from any recognised university with minimum 55% aggregate. The age limit is 19-28 years for open category and relaxation for reserved category candidates of maximum 5 years only in case of JRF. The relaxation is only for non-creamy layer candidates. Every year lacs of candidates give this exam for becoming lecturer in Indian government colleges or joining Junior Research Fellowship. Those who want to appear for this exam must have completed master's degree or in final year of this course. Age criteria for Junior Research Fellowship is 28 years for candidates of general category. But for OBC candidates of non creamy layer as per latest rules and regulation age limit is 33 years. OBC creamy layer candidates are treated as general category candidates. You should have 55% marks in post graduation to be eligible for NET exam. |

The age limit to appear for examination is 19-28 years with relaxation in age of 5 years for OBC and SC/ST. To appear for examination candidates must have master's degree from any recognised university with at least 55% marks. For more information about examination visit at www.ugc.ac.in. |

Eligibility criteria for both: >>Master's degree in any stream from a UGC recognized university. General candidates must have 55% marks in master's degree to apply for exam. Reserved category candidates have 5% marks relaxation. >>There is no upper age limit for Lectureship. Age limit for OBC candidate for JRF is 33 years. For general candidates it is 28 years. Only candidates of non creamy layer of OBC get five years age relaxation. If you belong to creamy layer, you will not get this age relaxation. |

The upper age limit for JRF is 28 years for open category candidates and it is relaxed by five years for OBC non creamy layer candidates and SC/ST candidates. So, for OBC non creamy layer candidates it is 33 years. Lectureship. There is no upper age limit for Lectureship post. |
