Re: Age criteria for admission in LKG for academic year 2016? Hi my sons DOB is 5th August 2013.he should be 3 yrs by July 31/2016 but his birthday is on 5th August which is only 4 days difference. Would that be a problem.i don't want him to waste a year for this 4 days difference. Pls help me. |

Re: Age criteria for admission in LKG for academic year 2016? My son born on 05 October 2012,BEML school asking that 5 days is less for 3 years 8 months. I don't think so 4 to 5 days does big difference advise is that good to continue still in nursery only or do I need to enquire again to school |

Re: Age criteria for admission in LKG for academic year 2016? The Average age of kids in nursery is 3 years, in LKG 4 years and in UKG 5 years. Though this varies greatly for different schools because all schools have their own age cut-off criteria. Many schools in Bangalore, specially ICSE schools, seem to follow this criteria - a child seeking admission in LKG should have completed 3 years 10 months as on 1st June of the academic session. Many other schools follow the 3 years 8 months criteria while few schools follow 3 years 6 months or 3 years 3 months or even 3 years too. |

Re: Age criteria for admission in LKG for academic year 2016? As far as my knowledge is concerned, you better to join your kind in Play school now at this age rather than in LKG. As per my calculations, your son's age 2 years 6 months which is a very less age for getting admission into LKG. >> Your Son's present age - 2 years 6 months Right Age for admission into several classes: * 2 years to 3 years - Play School * 3 years to 4 years - Nursery School * 4 to 5 years - LKG * 5 years to 6 years - UKG * 6 years onwards - Admission into 1st class and later classes The right age for a candidate to join LKG is 4 years or above than that. Your son is not eligible for getting admission in LKG right now. |

Re: Age criteria for admission in LKG for academic year 2016? 1 or two years doesn't make that much difference. But for your surety let us discuss all the aspects in details. See, according to the rules of CBSE, in normal cases(as we have some exceptions also)- The minimum age(ignoring exceptions) for the class 10th board is- 14 years as on 31st march and the maximum age is 16 years as on 31st march. If your son takes admission in Nursery then by the time he will reach 10th, his age will be- 16 years. and if he takes admission in LKG, then 15. So, my advise would be, LKG if it can be done so. |

The minimum age required to get admission in LKG in CBSE board is completion of 3 years 6 months at the time of admission. Since, your son has attained the age of 3 years 6 months. So he can get admission in 2016 session in LKG in CBSE board schools. |
