If you have completed graduation degree from a recognized university then you are eligible for IPS officer exam.

Your age should be in between 21 years to 32 years for general candidates. Age relaxation is given below -

5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates
3 years relaxation for OBC Candidates
10 years relaxation for PHC candidates
5 years relaxation for Ex-serviceman

Number of Attempts:-

For open category:- 7 attempts
For OBC category:- 9 attempts
For ST/SC category:- unlimited

Physical fitness criteria for IPS exam:-

Height

For Men : 165 cm(AROUND)
For Women :150 cm(AROUND)

OBC /SC/ST :

Male:160 cm and female :145 cm

Chest

Male candidates-84 (+ 5cm).

Female candidates-79cm(+ 5cm).

Eye Sight

For Worse Eye :6/12 or 6/9 distant vision
For good Eye :6/6 or 6/9 distant vision

No, you are not eligible to appear for Civil Service examination and hence, not eligible to become IPS Officer.

To be an I.P.S Officer candidates have to qualify in Civil Service examination. The eligibility to appear for examination is candidate must have passed graduation from any recognisd university and age must be between 21-32 years with relaxation in age for reserved category.

So, without having graduation degree you are not eligible to appear for examination. For more information about examination visit at www.upsc.gov.in.

Yes you are eligible to apply for IPS Examinations.

Eligibility Criteria:-
  • You need to be a citizen of India.
  • You need to have a bachelor's degree in any discipline of your choice from a recognized university.
  • Final year candidates are also eligible to give this exam.
  • The minimum age limit is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years old.
Number of Attempts:-
  • General - 4 attempts
  • OBC - 7 attempts
  • SC/ST - No Restriction
Selection Procedure:-
  • Stage I:- Preliminary Examination
  • Stage II:- Main Examination

I am sandeep kawatra and am 10the pass in 2005-06 12 then i passed my correspondence in 2008-09..Now then my age is 29 yrs..
Can I become IPS officer if I complete the education requirements..
